Keeping water at proper PH ? !

My problem is I can't keep my water buckets at the right PH.

This is just plain water...my nute mix keeps pretty close to what I want.

I fill a couple of 5 gallon buckets once a week for plain watering and emergency flushes.

I add the PH down...spend a couple of hours fussing with it and finally get it the normal range...drop in aeration pump to let it bubble off any chlorine, impurities etc.

Next day I check it...it's back into the high 7s ( My tap water is almost 8 out of the sink )

So I add more PH down..next day same thing.

I end up having to adjust the PH just before I add it to the pots and hope the PH stays close to normal until I'm done watering.

I don't like that...and I wonder what it's doing to my plants ?

So far they are doing fine..but it's the long term I'm looking out for.

Does the water I just added continue to fluctuate in the soil ?

How do I fill a bucket and add PH adjuster and have it stay that way for more then a day?

My neighbor hood store sells purified water in any PH flavor you want...but again after a day it also jumps back up.

Do I need a better PH down ? Is there something else I can add to the water to ensure steady PH ?

Right now I have a mesh sack full of dolomite submerged in the water hoping it will stabilize it.

PH changing over a week I could deal with...but this continuous fight to keep it at the right PH for more then a night is driving me crazy.

EDIT. My water comes from a collective well, not from the city...so it is pretty clean.
