Hi all i did read somewher about keeping ur seeds fresh for when your ready to plant. id like to know how you lot keep yours fresh

any cool dark dry environment.
I just brought out some old school seeds (15-20 years old), they were kept in a regular baggy that was in a film canister. They just sat in a desk drawer or something.
Old seeds take a little longer to germ than others, but assuming they havent been baking in the sun or anything, they should germ just fine.

Hi Buddy
After your seeds have COMPLETELY dried put them in an air tight container like a marmelade jar or something like that - in the freezer it goes. You can store it in the freezer like this for many years. The amount of seeds that will sprout will be smaller as the years go by, but freezer is the best way. Even if you have any seeds that you are going to plant - put them in the freezer for 24 hours increases the percentage that will actually sprout.
Marijuana seeds are pretty rough and will survive in an ashtray, bag, bucket or whatever. Just keep the seed dry, dark and cold if possible.

If I have paid good money for seeds I expect 100% germination - or the seed supplier will be getting a complaint.

Yes, but if you have saved your own seeds in an ashtray for 3 years putting them in the freezer prior to sowing can increase germination %. 100% germination is pretty high. I think that a 10% that won't germinate is pretty comon no matter how high quality seeds you use. I buy only the best and usually there's a seed or two that just doesn't come well or come at all.

I keep mine in airtight containers in the fridge and longterm storage in the freezer. Anything I don't plan on using within 1 year goes to the freezer the others stay in the fridge. Just personal choice and I like the results I have obtained over the years, but everyone has their own personal good news stories. Happy Growing
