Keeping plants short

I have a few questions regarding plant heights for a stealth indoor grow, I have a design for a taller set up but I'm wondering if it would be possible to keep the plants under 34". I don't really want to work with such a short space but if it's at all possible to get a good yield from that short of a plant that would give me room for more plants and floor space. I plan to start the flowering process as soon as possible so first off what is the best way to go about that? I'm also wondering about the potential yield of the plants assuming a healthy enviornment with ample lighting (most likely led), aeroponic grown, with co2 kept in the 1500-1600 ppm range. If I could get close to 1.5-2 oz per plant while being under 34" tall that'd be really great. Also concerned about outward growth considering only about 9"-9" space for each plant so I'm looking for a strian that can be controlled and manipulated easily if anyone has any reccomendations there?

If you trip an Indica @ 8 inches it will finish @ 24 - 32 inches. However, yield would be determined on several different factors. One, CO2 will do wonders if you can keep the ppm @ 1300 - 1500 @ all times. Temps play a factor, light, fertz, medium, and most important, strain.

that would work out great what about an autoflowering strain?

well u have alot of options my friend.

since u are using CO2, u will get fast veg growth so LST (low stress training) would be a great option.

also an auto flowering strain might be good since they start there flowering stage after 17 - 23 days in. u would run them under 20 light/ 4 dark, unless stated otherwise. i suggest Mighty Might, an easy to grow auto flowering strain that stinks and tastes great. cant go wrong.

u could top but all that will do is make the plant bushy instead of tall which seems like it might not work for ya ether.

if u can get ahold of a product called TOP LOAD by green planet

http://www.mygreenplanet.com/products/plant-food-and-additives/top-load/top-load-1-liter

u will have to download the catalog to see info on it but green planet nutrients and additives are PRO man, great stuff.

good luck man and keep us updated on how it goes.

...never messed with the autoflowering strains since you can't clone them, however, I plan on ordering something afghan reg autoflowering this spring to breed and aquire many seeds....I'll find out then how they produce, I guess. Good luck.

Keep a careful eye on how often you water. The plants will stretch on you if you overwater, at least in my experience. Genetics are obviously the most important factor here, but how far away your light is, its nutrient solution, and atmospheric conditions are big factors too, but aside from those, overwatering (IMO) is the biggest factor that you can keep from doing that will help deter that situation.

HI,

You can keep these plants to any size you need to :bigjoint: 34" is plenty of height. Use LST to keep on pulling the main tops down and out, tie them down well and they will just bush out for you :-) Dont be afraid to tie them down, iy does them no harm at all.

BUBBA o kUSH, less than 18" tall ! You can see all of the ties, keep on training right through flowering, they love it. This plant was NOT topped at all, to encourage a short main cola.

HOPE THIS HELPS.
