Keep your babies out of Miracle Gro.

I usually make my own or use Fox Farm soils, but I decided to try Miracle Gro so I could have my own opinion. I hear some people love it, most hate it. well I now belong to the latter.

After transplanting into MG, my plant started a slow decline. The high amount of ammonia nitrate and urea was wayyy to hot for it handle. normally this can be corrected with a flush, but being packed full of water soluble nutes this wasn't an option. I let the soil dry out before watering again, but this didn't help either. So in my opinion, do not put your ladies in shit soil, or you will get shit results. Some people have had decent results, but it's a gamble. Stick to a rich mixture of proper admendments, and stay away from the chemical garbage. It's nice to be able to feed your plants when they need it, rather than releasing an unknown amount everytime you water. :leaf:

Ahh shit dude, don't tell me that, I just transplanted a white widow seedling into a 5gallon pot of MG. and actually, I've noticed the lowest fan leaves getting a discoloration, it's only been one day though and I was noticing it slightly to begin just before i transplanted so i guess we'll see. You haven't got me looking up though. Luckily, I've got pleanty of time to recover if this is going to hurt it.:leaf:

miracle grow or any chemical fertalizer soil is a bad idea, go organic if you want nutes in the soil. Id rather add the nutrients i want when i water

I had this prop with mg b4 going the fox farms route. Flushing will only make it worse bc of the nutes in MG. allow the soil to dry and shake as much soil from the root ball w/o damaging it and transplant into new soil. Scott's has a potting mix(white and red bag) which is good since its nute free and readily available at any HD or Lowes for a buck and change(I usually mix it with FFOF adding Perlite and Bat guano to stretch it a bit), Good luck on the grow. MJ is resilient she'll come back

SMG, I have been using MG for the 2 months I have been at this. No signs of it effecting the ladies at all but I have read a lot of people on here say it is shit. Your experience is making me think of using something different for my next grow. I am looking to buy a good medium with no nutes in it. I would rather add the nutes myself when watering...any suggestions?

:peace:

If you want minimal nutes but a good balanced soil, try Happy Frog. But honestly, Ocean Forest is my shit. THCoG uses it too. I'm trying Happy Frog for the first time, we'll see how it goes... :weed:

I used a DWC cloner and got a nice root system that were about 2 or 3 inches long from all the clones. I put half in MG and left the other half in the DWC. All the girls transplanted in MG almost died because they burnt up. It wasn't becuase of light cause I was only using a 4 CFLs for the seedlings. I after almost biting the dust they went back in the DWC and are thriving. I think the MG nutes were the culprate so thats why I need to find a better alternative. I trust SMG so I think I am going to have to go with Ocean forest next.
