im in the 3rd week of my first grow. as u may notice ive been doing well.ive been updating weekly and watering every 3 days or so nutes every 3rd watering and giving tons of love daily. you may notice i posted pics 2 days ago in regards to the topping of my largest and healthiest plant "lil mama" well sadly this post concerns her. i noticed about 3 days ago her leaves seeming to droop. i researched "sleeping plants" and was put to ease by what i found even finding it cute that they do. what concerned me was her canopy was seeming to droop durring the light cycle. but i paid it no mind. a day later her leaves began to look kind of dry [this being the middle day between waterings] i tried not to worry too much and proceded to see where it would go from there. one of the main reasons i wasnt too worried is because of the undergrowth that was visibly shooting out everywhere. and this being a bagseed grow not knoweing the geniology i took this as a sign of health. this morning i woke. rushing to my grow box as i do every morning and she looked more than sad. i picked her up notising her pot very light i said "THATS IT!" your thirsty. but this being the end of a 3 day watering cycle i felt her soil the 2 days prior and knew that that wast what was wrong with her. i wanted so badly to post pics on here and beg for answers, but decided to try to diagnose and treat her myself. after all, i reaserched indoor growing for months before i even attempted to germinate. so i water her almost to the point of flushing. her being in a half gallon pot i didnt want to overdo it. but i let the plain water [un ph'ed] mind you flow through the soil till i saw it run out the bottem in a stream. 6 hours later and i notice small spots on her leaves and the edges of her longest getting brittle abd a little brown. at this point her leaves are looking old shes wilting and now the spots. i decide to check against the deficiency chart to see if that helps. her symptoms look like a potasium def. which kinda makes sense since im only using flora grow right now until i can afford the other two in the general hydroponics flora series. anyway. i decide to transplant her seeing as how shes getting very large and that may also be part of the problem. so i begin the procedure. im using MG moisture control soil mixed with a soiless mix about 50 % to 45% and 5% of manure thrown in for good measure, or nitrogen really. i get the new pot ready with the dry soil mix loosen up the soil in her pot as best as i could and held her upside down letting her fall in between my fingers. WOW! i had no idea her roots would be so long (and fragile) they filled the bottom of the pot rounding in the contours and looked like they had no where to go. confirming that it was time for this. anyway i mixed a gallon of nutes adding half the strength "rose food" flushed the gallon pot i placed her in. before putting her in i loosened the root ball trying to be as gentile as poss. which is what taught me they were fragile because a couple broke. not many at all. and i let the wet soil fall to the table. i said this to say im wasnt trying to drown her as i just watered this morning. most of the wet soil from this morning i let fall away. so now shes in my grow box looking sad and wilted and i have high hopes for recovery but this being my 1st transplant of this kind i have my doubts. please keep little mama in yr weed prayers and hope for a full recovery. if not. i still have one healthy and 3 seeds germinating:P:lol: i just wanted to share this with people whom i thought would feel my plight. thanx for reading and good luck with your gardens.
