Noob here. I know its only 1 leaf but im still trying to learn. Its a lower leaf so im guessing its one of the mobile nutrients, and from what i can tell it looks like K. Any feedback is appreciated.

Blue Dream week 4 flower
Dirt grow
Lower leaf only
Water PH always around 6.5-6.6
Runoff water has been around 6.1-.2

I water plant when needed.. usually every other day.

Nutrients? Medium? Laugh but if you aren't giving cal mag in each feeding in hydro or peat or coco (which are hydro) you're looking at a calcium deficiency.

Cal mag each feeding in those situations. Check it for N. Adjust your Grow and also Micros if using 3 part system to keep from burning.

Im growing in greenall potting soil. i mix in dolimite lime to raise the ph. growing with an optic 2 grow light.

each watering with distilled water. my base water has fulvic acid, kelp, yucca and bloom microbes, aminos and calmag. 6:2 fulvic/ kelp

when i water with nutes i use either NPK bloom or i will use fox farms .... the calmag i use is advanced nutrients. starting to wonder about adv nutrients. if its a cal issue then i may get some straight Calcium to add in.

Thank you all for your help.

Hi Anon...just a comment about that first shot. Those leaves are super dark green. That and the little areas of necrosis make me believe that it's getting too much N. Anybody else think that is way dark leaf coloration?

JD, thank you for the comment. I give them very little N. This is a clone from my strongest plant from a prev grow. For whatever reason this blue dream clone has always been on the darker green side.

Good observation. I think the more accessory pigment (anthocyanin in particular) in the leaf the darker the green looks in veg and early flower.

Mornin' Guys,
I've smoked Blue Breams (nice) but haven't grown it. But I have grown a pure indica Afghan that didn't have leaves that dark. I'm an old fart...first grow 1975...but I'm not too familiar with the newer nutrient "systems". I would definitely be looking to cut back on N since: 1) the plant probably has enough N in storage 2) Too much N will suppress bud production 3) I could be right

I've never had a calcium deficiency...only problems related to excess Ca I'm not too clear on that issue.
JD

PS Preferred timing is using up stored N just as plant reaches harvest

It's a blueberry cross, and you are correct that anthocyanin laden plants tend to carry darker leaf tones. You can sure get some nice coloration's out of them, though I find they lack a little in the high.

Hi Anon,
You're doing good for a noob. The things I'd be worrying about if it were my plant.
1) Plant is not using up stored N and may end up harsh smoking from chlorophyll
2) Looking at the reddish leaf stems makes me worried that the plant did not get enough P for optimal bud formation.

And as a general comment not specific to your grow...don't add loads of P near end of run. Nothing kills taste worse then excess P.
JD

PS: see below for normal harvest coloration...how much time do you have left?

Hi Anon,
So you have plenty of time. The red stem thing can also be strain related and not necessarily a deficiency. Just make sure your flowering nutes are correct strength.

I started growing before we had an internet and forums. Took me 10 years of experimentation before I finally got respectable results...though even my first grow was good to smoke. Flowering nutrients and timing and such is quite complex.
Carry on...
JD

PS: Just to clarify, the pictures are not my plants. Just the best shots I could find to make my point, and actually are more ideal rather then normal. Most growers won't end up with buds like that.

my very first grow i did the over nute thing.. then had to flush, so im always trying to error on the side of less. I will add more P.
