Just Wont Fuckin Sprout

Ok so I got a couple beans easyrider and jock horror. Germinated using layered papertowels on a plate with plastic wrap. Placed on a towel on a heater set on low so it kept plate warm to touch but not hot. Seeds popped in about two days, nice lil tiny tails but did not increase in size after initial pop. So I gingerly transfered with tiny spoon to aerogarden grow media. Grow dome, ad varied how low I placed in media some alil in and some right on top.
i got nothing no sprouting what so ever going on over a week now. Im out of ideas tryed a few adjystments but I got absolutly no change after imitial seeds pop tail HELP

I think the heat wasn't good for your roots, sure it sprouted them, but when that tap root comes out, it's very sensitive.

You transplanted into an area that is colder than where they have germinated, i think the temperature differential might have shocked and killed them off. So next time, don't put them on any kind of heater. Seeds can germinate even in colder conditions ( I germed seeds in 16 degrees Celsius water before, got 10 out of 10 from bagseed) so you don't necessarily need to keep them warm, just moist.

Deff dead if nothing is happening after 7 days.....wait a couple more before you ditch and try again.

My thoughts confirmed I read alot about the heating mats and thats what I was trying to recreate. Next batcj I will try rockwool cubes in a seedling humidity tray no pre germination.

my only guess is maybe you kept everything too wet for too long. I soak my seeds in a glass of water until they sink. That's usually in 8-12 hours. Then, regardless if they popped or not, throw them into a coco plug/starter cube/whatever you use. Keep them moist, not wet... and fairly warm. Humidity domes and seed mats are great for this (open the humidity dome once they've sprouted... get rid of it after they have a couple sets of leaves). They always pop within a week. If its been more than a week, my guess is they've rotted.

My seed and clones only work because of my heating mat. as long as you don't get above 85... maybe even 90... your fine. I'd say 80-85 is perfect for popping seeds. I'm pretty sure roots love heat and moisture... but also a good supply of fresh air. If you keep everything too wet your roots drown. If you don't give everything fresh air (opening your dome once or twice a day) they'll rot.

Can take up to 2 weeks wait till then dont dig around in the medium in a panic. If still nothing could have been any number of things that caused it.

i play "I've Got A Lovely Bunch of Coconuts," from Monty Python for my beans, and do a Hopi rain dance around them.......

i always keep it nice and simple i get a dish 1sheet of tissue lay it down on dish spread my seeds out over the tissue not too close
put 1 more sheet of tissue over the top of the seeds then i pour some water on that i have left for couple of days first just cleans the water not too much just so the
tissue is wet not puddled then i leave in a dark cubboard and check on them daily and keep the tissue wet by adding water when it has avaporated and norm i have 99% of them germinate then put then straight into a pot of soil about 20cm down and jobs a goodn!

Yeah, if you want adequate heating, just get a germination heating mat, their temperature the supply is just right for seeds and is lower than that of a room heater. You don't want cooked beans.

I germed 4 Jock Horror seeds and only one sprouted. I also germed 8 other seeds (Ice, Pure Power Plant and Iranian G13) and all of them came up, so I'm thinking that the JH is not a very viable seed. Great advice on the heat mat; from my experiments it is the single most important thing you can do to get seeds to sprout.

I was out of practice with seeds, using only clones, same thing was happening to me. I attributed it to lack of heat in my case, because now that I put them in the dark, on top my cable modem, if yet to fail at germinating a seed. Im guessing you either got them too hot, or too wet. The paper towel should only be damp... shouldn't drip water, that was another problem I was probably doing wrong keeping them too wet in fear of them getting too dry lol. I wrap the seeds in a paper towel, then put in a ziplock bag, then in a dark container on the cable modem.
