and she seemed very interested in the cannabis business talking about how much money can be made in it if it goes legal and how the current growers on the ground floor has the advantage yadi yadi ya but anyway she was hinting at allowing me to possibly take on a few of her other houses and start LEGAL grows. This excites and scares me all at once. anyone have any thoughts and or advice could use some others opinions

Never go into business with your landlord. Going into the weed business with someone/anyone is risky. You would have to trust the person with your life. The Feds prosecute people every day in California, Colorado, Washington. Just go to the Federal court house and sit in proceedings for a few hours. You will see a flood of growers, smokers, and vendors getting broke of years of prison time. Best thing to do is grow and not tell anyone!!!

sounds like your landlord likes money. Pretty sure she sees an ironclad way to get here rent every month...except we all know in the know there is nothing ironclad about it from start to finish. Go for it if she's really hip to how it works I guess but I get the feeling she thinks there is SO much money in it that rent is a little old thing your rich growing ass wouldn't have to worry about paying for on the monthly in cash (probably another of her thoughts; avoiding uncle sam herself with cash and bullshit). don't listen to what she knows but listen for the shit she don't know and you'll see all your problems ahead of time.

thats alot of money... If you do, get in and get out. Do a couple years of mass growing, keep your pennys saved and retire.

Two words that stand out in your post are SHE and LANDLORD. I'd go ahead and lawyer up and have a bag packed for when you have to flee. You have two volatile ingredients on your hands my friend.

yea all these things are what have been running through my head i guess it just comes down to risk and reward
I would say the odds are not in your favor. If she is that knowledgeable about the subject and would be willing to let you use her property without really getting to know you first I would say that she has a plan. Put yourself in her shoes and think really hard about it. You're a paycheck to her and if that paycheck isn't big enough and she wants more what are you going to do about it? Nothing against women except I won't do business with them in this fashion. If I find a landlord that is a female I will look elsewhere. I learned the hard way.

Have a plan, if all else fails, you need to get the fuck out of there if things start crashing down. If your willing to rough it, and live with warrants, anything is possible.

Buy a dirtbike, a tent, and have seeds and some other equipment. If all fails, youll have a fast vehicle capable of fleeing police, especially off road... and you can take it into the middle of nowhere, set up camp with your tent and seeds, and grow off the land, then fill your bag with buds when its done, offload them to someone, and bam your back on your feet hopefully by this point in another country with no extradition. ;)

CA has a lot of doors being kicked still but, WA and CO have been very, very quiet. I read about every bust that happens on globalincidentmap.com. In CO there have been several 1000+ plant busts in the last three years that have not been picked up the Feds. Truemed's take was very accurate. Even in CA 7 out 10 times it is because of stolen electricity or guns.

It sounds like she wants you to take all the risk and do all the work. While she takes a percentage? It is good to have
a good landlord if you are renting but, with real estate prices in MI it just best to not deal with rentals or partners all
together. Reduce the amount of points of fail as much as possible.

Eh? So having a vagina precludes you from doing business with someone?

I personally would not do this, but I'm pretty sketchy with people that I don't know very well.

*IF* you end up doing this though, I think you would be fine so long as you aren't careless with it. Do not exceed your 72 plants in any one house, make sure your patients/caregivers are legit, and take the necessary measures to ensure that your grows aren't easy to break in to. If you stay inside the boundaries of the law I wouldn't be worried about LEO, but I sure as hell would be uneasy about loose lips. You'd have to have a few people helping you in addition to the landlord knowing what's up.
