You can buy DE at Walmart it is known as OilDry and in the automotive section. I think its like $4.50 for a 25lb bag.

I COULD be wrong, it's been known to happen, but the Oil Dri I buy at WallyWorld is cat litter. Most definitely not DE.

Most cat litter is DE that is covered with perfumes and other chemicals. Oil Dri is 100% natural with no chemical additives.

Thats harsh lol but effective. I would assume any garden store would have it in supply? and its ok for the plants like PH wise and all that ?
Your local feed store should carry it. It is widely used as an anti-caking agent in feed mixes and parasite control in cattle, pigs and horses.....you can even dust your cats and dogs with it for flea control....

And its not seaming to work well on ants. iv had like over 40 ants in my pots so i powdered heavy and made paste with water then powdered again on top. Those ants still there. Can ants ruin your crop?

It soounds like an ant colony established a dairy operation in your soil with aphid larvae. An extreme measure with neem or Azamax soil drench to kill the larvae will be needed after applying DE to your topsoil. Fish emulsion/sesame oil gets rid of them too(sesame oil suffocates them). After Operation Rolling Thunder, it's time for Operation Rolling Barrel - find that ant trail and strafe it.

guys, I use DE all the time... in my in-ground pool filter system. It's a DE type filter, it has a series of large nylon mesh type filters spanning a manifold and the DE powder is poured into the system usually via the skimmers around the sides of the pool and the DE powder coats the big filter grids (50 + sq. ft.) with a coating of DE and this acts as a super filter, it filters down to under a few microns, when it gets clogged you simply reverse the flow and backwash the crud and DE down the drain then recoat the filter with fresh DE to go another month or two. I never knew it had other capabilities.. I buy a box at Leslie's Pool Supply (a national pool service chain) it's 25lbs. and it's about $20 a box. Seems like I saw it at Walmart too, they had a small section for swimming pool supplies like chlorine tablets, shock, etc. and I think it was available in 5 or 10 lb packages.

you may need to research the difference between the DE used for swimming pools and DE for gardening/pests. They are different from each other.
