Just Lollipopping?

Just wanted to share with you the lollipopping technique. Not because it's something new, i guess you heard of it before, but to ask you what do you think about it when watching the pictures from the link below. There are pics that shows lollipopped plants and i wonder how come the buds are almost the same level/same height? Not to mention that the overall height is something every indoor grower want.
Could it be the fact that the plant was only for a short period in veg stage? Or could it be the strain that makes it shorter?
Or perhaps there are other training methods inolved beside lollipopping? I doubt about this supposition as i don't know if there are other training methods like SOG, ScrOG or manifold that can control the height. Topping i don't think can control too much of it.
What do you think about it?

I'm confused. If you want to control the height all you need to do is LST, and a ScrOG net. You can top pretty far down a plant, and control the height that way as well.
