No problem I will definitively check out some more of your threads. As far as the " SuperSoil " method not being anchored in Biology or Science I cannot attest too that because I do not have the repertoire, but if you mean it in the context that it doesn't follow the Redwood Forest concept or natural growth that we see in nature then I can understand what you are saying. I guess I just like it because it is simple and easy to critique and I get rather great yields and killer smoke. Also I found it hard to break off from Nutrients ( in the beginning ) to Organics just because of the inexperience gap and the fear of switching to a method that didn't work as well, but when I did and tasted the final product I was overjoyed and ecstatic at the final result. So in a sense in that same way I am a little reluctant to switch from a method I use now that produces some of the best smoke I have ever had bar none. On top of that my yields are very good in my opinion and I never have a problem with malnutrition/deficiencies or anything else along those lines. I am not saying I would not be interested in trying a new method because I definitively would, but unless the new method gets me a higher quality smoke / better yields then the difference to me is rather negligible. I understand that is a terrible philosophy but I am a little stubborn... Any chance I could see what your soil mix looks like? I have the room and plants to try out other methods and would love to give a go at what you are talking about. Thank you
Ok, first off, there aint NOTHING wrong with not wanting to tweek an existing grow, in fact many times people do too much tweeking

sure, my soil doesn't appear to be much different to the naked eye, maybe a bit more black than others, but I emphasize aeration, as homemade humus tends to be rather dense (especially worm castings)

the complaint with layered soil is this
1. having a water soluble nutrients dense soil at the bottom of a container is a bad thing, leads to anaerobic conditions, the soil will literally prune the roots due to the acidity of the organic inputs
2. It also contradicts nature, the "food" is found at the topsoil and throughout, but mostly the topsoil
3. Having soluble nutrients with the premise of it "lasting until later" is just.. well, it's soluble... and we, um water almost daily... so for one, cannabis is a drought tolerant plant, has a HUGE root system, I've seen roots pop out the bottom of a freshly transplanted plant, within a week, sometimes 3 days or less, the roots SHOOT down looking for water, and they'd get pruned from the anaerobic/nutrient dense/acidic "supersoil"
4. slaughterhouse stuff... google prion disease and see if that is reason enough.
5. Amending existing soil mixes is asinine in my opinion, so is not re-using your soil.
heres an old pic of my soil from right after a harvest

notice the alllll sorts of aeration
I use coco-wool, perlite, pumice, vermiculite, biochar, volcanic rock, rotted tree log chunks and oyster shells

I appreciate the No-Till info. I was wondering about how it would look after a few runs. Would you still recommend No-Till?
as a strict rule, no, I would not recommend no-till, I have much better results when I re-amend each calendar year, but in a good sized pot, a no-till can be used for 3-4 runs, depending on the size of the plant and container
but I DO no-till for that amount of time, I like the soilweb being undamaged for that amount of time, but I like to re-apply myco as much as I can.
@Rasta Roy has some very similar concepts and philosophies as I do (we're brothers froma nother mother)
he also has some good threads as well
cool dude, and i'm sure he'd holla at ya if you had questions

Wow thank you for that. That was very well explained and easy to understand. Im with you on the slaughterhouse stuff which is why im mainly Veganic. I will definitively have to try some of the things you have mentioned. I appreciate you taking the time to give me some very knowledgeable help. I will definitively be looking at your posts in the future.

@HazyDays65 I was just fucking with you man. Lighten up and don't cry so much. It's just like in school or prison, if you show any weakness, the wolves will jump all over you. Who cares if RIU panders to certain members? Does it really effect you? You gotta learn how to bob and weave and get your punches in where you can.
