I know I know no pics sorry...ill get them up in a couple days I promise!!

They turned out VERY nicely but I just had some quick Q's

+rep for all great info...

1.) Should i trim off the small nugs or just keep em' on the branch n hang it like that?

2.) Do YOU Trim up to the bone or leave a lot of the middle leaves on?

3.) How many days into hang drying to I need to manicure? Do i even NEED to manicure?

4.) Go into jars when stem still bendable and little crispy on the outside right?

Thank you all very much!!

I am no pro but things seem to work out fine for me, and my friends are impressed when I break out some sweet looking buds to smoke that knock their socks off.

To me, manicuring and trimming are the same thing. I take all the sucker leaves off and throw them away. I then trim off alot of the leaf that is sticking out that doesn't show much crystals and throw that out. I then trim flush to the bud the stuff sticking out of the buds. I save that because on my buds it has alot of THC content.

How close you trim the buds is all a matter of preference. I like the look of a really close shaved bud but if you have quantity, you may not have the time to really make a sculpture out of your buds.

I am not hanging this year because I really don't have the spot for that. I am packing it in cardboard boxes for about 4 or 5 days and then putting it into coffee cans for curing. I've done one load so far and got it in the cans once the outside fluff part of the buds was starting to get brittle but the inside was still a little moist and spongy. Make sure you let them air out after you seal them up in something. The first few days I've burped mine several times a day for 15 or so minutes at a time. My smoke is already smokable but I will keep it curing in the cans for quite some time.

I take all the big leaves off and let them hang overnight over a string somewhere peaceful. The plant is still plenty wet at this point and I don't want it wiping all my lovely trich all over the place before I can smoke 'em. If you are pulling a whole plant down it takes a while, so mine goes in stages. Next day after I get rid of my family (/grin I love school!) I pull them out again and this time work the manicure. The small nugs go on a small rack I made that has thin lines on it, I either clip them there or just hang them over the line. I'm finding if I just leave them in a tray at this point they mash on one side because of the weight of the bud and how wet it is, so even the small ones get hung up for two days or so.

The bigger ones I trim close, lay the flat of your blade down the side of the bud, it work out well. Dig in for those bigger leaves, they are worth getting rid of. This trim I save and spread out in a cardboard box to dry evenly, it's great stuff. So then the manicured bud still on the bigger sticks gets hung over more lines for up to 4 days, till it's crunchy on the outside.

Then I bring it back to the trays, this time pulling it all off the bigger sticks and cutting them into big and small nugs. At this point the small stems snap and the bigger ones are bendy. Everything in a tray for another day or two, then off it goes into jars. I can always re-hydrate my smoke, but I'm not going to lose one freeking bud to mold if I can help it. Gross stuff, pissed me off the one time I let that happen and I swore never again. (I had bought that weed too, not grown it so it was an expensive lesson. )

If I think of anything else I'll come back. Off to clean my cutters again :) (rubbing alcohol works really well for this btw)

keep ur nugs on the stick, hand dry,but cut the leaves off, wait til the outside is crispy, and ur stems still have some bend to them, then cure

I use a flat razor blade to scrape those cutters btw, if you look at that under the microscope you'll find it's all trichomes in a lovely wet smooshy pile. Scrap that down with the razor and roll it into a ball, add to it as you cut. T

his is pure grower's hash :D and it's treasure that is all yours for doing the cutting.

Then soak a small rag or cotton ball with the rubbing alcohol and wipe down your blades and your sticky hands, it takes all the sticky right off - the alcohol cuts right through the trich resin so save what you will before you clean! Heheheheh

Well I just do the simple routine.

Cut the large and medium fan leaves off and trim the rest of the leave down to a length that I like. I collect all that trim and am saving it for edibles. MMMMMmmm!!!

I just cut the little buds off and throw them on a rack to dry. Got different layers with an oscillating tower fan in my closet now. Pretty sweet setup IMHO.

Got a rack like this - (srry shitting google pic)

I then just let them hang for a week or so till the stems break blah , blah blah lol

Then into jars and hopefully good smoke!!!
