So as some of you who know me know I made it up here to AK to work for the summer. Im out in Yakutat and got to go fishing for the first time today. the Sockeye are running hard on the Situk already. So its my first time fishing in forever and my first time fly fishing EVER! Boy I was an epic fail today, i caught myself 2 times and just when I was starting to think I had the mechanics down I caught a log. Mind you I was stoned at the time but When I thought I had a bite I pulled up hard and man I thought I had a fish till my buddy told me "you got the log". I must have casted like 100 times and not one bite, he walks up throws his hook in the water and bam! had a fish on. He just looked at me smiled and laughed. I had a great day off this week cant wait till next thurs to go do some fishing. We ended up bringing back 19.5 lbs of fillets though. now I got fish to cook!
