Just got an aerocloner in...

with 24 sites and net pots.. so I will be rooting my cuts from now on in the aerocloner into dirt. Just got sick of cloning into straight promix hp. Had a very good sucess rate taking cuts into dirt, but lately some of the finicky strains been having a few problems rooting. Also the aerocloner will be cleaner, space efficient and shave off a week or so of veg for me.
So I have a few ?s, first- when taking cuts to go in the aerocloner should I rough up the bottom stems of cuts like I did when going into dirt, or even make a few slices with razor blades?
Also should I use the net pots seeing as I will be transplanting from aerocloner to soil once rooted? I figured once roots get established they would start to get tangled in net pots and will be tough to get out and will require some snipping. Any insight and tips will be appreciated. Thanks- Ds

with an aero you don't need to dick with anything. Tap water, put cuts in pucks , come back in 10 days....IMHO
pucks are easier transplant from than net pots.

I will add PH to 5.2 to 5.7 You are going to love that thing
So I might have to add a lil ph down then because my tap is a lil high. That's cool right? I read that you want to use regular tap water in the aerocloner, even though I do have a r/o water filter, I will not want to use it.

Thanks for the tips guys, really stoked to be using a aerocloner now. It's really going to dial my grow in to the max.

I've always used RO without any issues

So didn't use the net pots, I think they just came as an extra option. So all is good and all 25 cuts are standing up straight and tall . Can't believe how fast I took 25 cuts and the overall space I save. Wish I bought one of these sooner. Its a good introduction to hydro which I've been thinking about switching over too down the line.20190322_012926.jpg

Also another thing I was wondering-once they root in the aerocloner can I put them right into their final home of a 5gal fabric pot. I know it would be preferred to put them in a smaller container to establish roots in dirt.

I believe that temperature is more important than pH, I would not use straight RO without adding either some tap or Cal/mag to get the ppm to around 120.

Just built an Aero Cloner and completing my first run with the clones. I got 34 out of 34 to take. I am running a 24 plant SOG and my assistant is growing the other 10. Took a bit longer to root because the water temp was in the mid 60's when I started. Added an aquarium heater to boost the temps to 75 and they rooted in no time.

Good luck on your grow and I will pull up a chair for it if you don't mind!

I've struggled to come up with a reliable cloning process so Imana sit in on this one as well.

What do you all run for your spray on/off schedule?

Dude I love the drip system into...looks like coco. Been thinking of running a drip system into soil for when I go on vacations, it would be the final touch on a solid room I'm running. How did you run your drip system, what size rez do you use? Sorry for all the ?s

24/7, I believe. I just plug in the pump and walk away. I'll check in a few days. My buddy is a 1st time grower and has had great success with a aerocloner. Very easy and simple to use.

I posted this in Nov. 18', it was built for my 5 plant Vertical grow. With this current 24 plant SOG, I did not have the volume needed for the stream emitters so had to go with the 2 g/h pressure compensating dripper's and it is working just fine.

Upgraded my irrigation system.
I grow 5 plant vertical as my main and 5 plant horizontal as secondary.
Original rez.

I switched the rez for a Commander 27 gallon tote, much stronger.

For the 24 plant SOG, used 3 - 8 port manifolds.

This is what I used prior to going to the 2 g/h drippers. Rainbird emitter, much better coverage throughout the profile.

The 2 g/h emitters.

Hope this helps buddy.
