greenhorn status prb if its your first time, youll be doing most of the bitch work. baiting traps, lugging equipment, being the reason for the fuckups that werent your fault lol. hope the seas are kind to you. you might miss the hot roof once your on a hot boat for a long time stanking like rotting fish.

Sounds like a interesting job, does it pay good? when your out there you will be going to eat like a king too, lobster everyday.

Watch Lobstermen or whatever that lobster version of Deadliest Catch is called.
That should give you a decent idea what to expect, they love filming the greenhorns on those shows.

working on a boat pays as much as you can catch. i know people that have worked for weeks without a paycheck. captain has to cover fuel, bait, repairs and equipment before he pays his workers. but there is chance to make bank if you hit a bunch of nice strings.

this is what i was thinking... i'm not one who's big on boats, so this wouldn't be much of a dream job and i'd probably be begging them to take me back to the hot roof after a few hours out on the seas..

yeah it pretty much depends on what we catch. when he first offered me the job i said no didnt wanna be away from home to long but fuck it there aint nothing around here to stick around for anyway.yeah maine was only there once before it was cold as shit. and thanks i gonna need it the first week is gonna be hell

Hope you don't plan on smoking any weed while your out there.
I've seen some pretty mellow captains go ballistic when they see pot being
used on their boat.

maine is beautiful, a far cry from philly though, lol. my gf lives up there and i go up to visit a few times a year or so.. went up once on new years eve, fucking coldest weather ever.. on the ride i home, i drove past this frozen lake that had those ice huts on it with people ice fishing in them.. the fucking huts had chimneys and fireplaces it is so damn cold up there..

it hasn't been a very cold winter up there this year, pretty much like the rest of the east coast..

sounds like a cool job, i'd try it myself other than the fact that i get super sea sick.. :( not sure if i would get used to it after a few days and find my sea legs like they say or i'd be sick the whole time, and guess what?? i'm not looking to find out anytime soon, lol..
i went striper fishing with my buddy a few years ago in the atlantic, at the cape may rips, where the delaware meets the atlantic, and it's notoriously rough there.. i spent 90% of the trip in the cabin puking my guts up...

yah, i have too, drugs on boats is usually a pretty big no no from what i've seen.. the thing is smoking would ease my stomach and make me able to work, but w/e...
anyone watch deadliest catch on discovery? those two brothers who's father, phil, died a few years ago, the one brother was caught smoking on the ship and the new captain freaked on him over it..

yah, i'm a big head, and i don't even think i'd risk smoking on a working boat like that... just too much shit that can go wrong imo..
