yes, you can do this. and it's not very hard. You don't want to let your plants go too much longer than 13 days. All you need to do now is pull them out of your soil containers (hopefully small cups, or the like), shake off as much dirt as you can, rinse them as clean as you can, and then transplant them in to your DWC medium and then in to your DWC reservoir. I hope this helps. Good luck to you!

Yes, it is a fairly simple task. Follow what snutter said and they should be fine. Just be gentle with the roots when rinsing.

Why would you want to do this in the first place? Why not plant first into rockwool or rapid rooter plug instead of attempting surgery on your root system... Not knocking hydro but plants have been growing in soil for eons why change now

because soil is shlt compared to hyrdo everyone knows that. also make sure u rinse with warm water and if u cant get all the dirt out of the roots i wouldnt put it in the dwc with more plants , when i did i got root rot from the soil still on

ok yea you can go from soil to DWC but let me say any contaminent, organism, and even any leftover dirt itself will raise your potential for root rot.

Now having said that, yes your roots are the key to your babies life, but if just rinsing them with water is going to kill it, you dont want the plant anyways. Hardy roots = a Hardy plant, and a hardy and strong plant is really what we want in our DWC systems.

Im gonna disagree about the warm water part, when you rinse the roots the water should be cool, not COLD, to the touch. I think of it like this, when you get done with a hard workout, compare this to schocking the plant (transplanting) what would you like to drink? warm water or cool-to-cold water, and on top of that Cool water cuts down on the formation of detrimental bacteria and pest problems.

I have never transplanted a marijuana plant from soil to dwc but just recently switched over my jalapeño plant that's about 3 months old and flowering. The hard part is getting all the chunks of junk from the soil. The roots of a jalapeño plant are more delicate than a marijuana plant and I didn't damage any of the root system in the process. Just take ur time make sure you get all the soil out and don't be so scared to hurt her that you end up making a stupid mistake. But after she gets comfy in that dwc system put on ur seat belt cause she's gonna take off. Not even an hour after my jalapeño transplanted she started spitting out peppers from all angles. Lol good luck!

Thanks everyone for the fast replies I don't think I'm going to bother them they are doing much better I have a few seeds I picked up from Attitude anyone try KiwiSkunk ? I wanted to try some bagseed first and see how I do I'm going to buy everything I need for my DWC grow is there any one way better then another ? That has produced time and time again ? I need a shopping list any forums or post have them I'd rather DIY it or is there a system that works better thats not to costly ? I have 2.5 + 2.5 area is that enough room ??

Yeah Stealth hydro sells a cheap kit for like $50. Id say build your own. its real easy. just get a 5 gal bucket a couple airstones , a air pump, and some hydroton. you can get a net pot from stealth hydro too cor cheap. most hydroponic stores carry stuff to make them too. good luck . they are great lil systems though. i have 2 going right now. one i bought and one i made after i saw how simple it was to make.

as far as strains go, I have about 9 right now, Master Kush - Nirvana, Big Buddah - Blue Cheese, Orange Bud - Ceres, Chocolope - DNA, Blueberry - Dutch Passion, The Church - Greenhouse, and some other crosses. I got the Orange Bud, and Blueberry simply because people that arent really pot connousieurs definitely get excited about names like Orange, Master Kush and Blueberry. I got the Blue Cheese and Church just because I wanted something different for my own tastes. And I hear great things about the Chocolope, just my two cents
