Good day to all, as the start to a new growing season is upon us I have a question to the growers here. The end result we all look for is a desirable high when we smoke the bud. If I understand what we smoke to get the high it is the trichomes. The plant produces these trichomes to keep the insects away. Is there a way to fool the plant to produce more\stronger trichomes .

Yes a few ways to do so. More uv light will increase oil production and potency. Also additives help with oil production like Terpenze, and terpinator.

Can the plant be fooled into thinking it is under attack from insects to make it over produce,

Twice a day I have a tough looking ladybug walk by each plant, it really keeps them on their toes!

No theres no way to make it think its being attacked by insects... Maybe try stabbing it with a really small needle? N SLOWLY take out juice??? I mean but then u basically are the bug theres no point. In my opinion a healthy plant will produce more tricomes than one with a moderate bug infestation

Genetics. Best way to get a plant with lots of frost is to choose a strain known for producing lots of frost. There are lots of ways to "stress" a plant into supposedly producing more trichomes, bigger buds, etc. I think most of it is snake oil. Like @BionicΩChronic said, nothing beats a healthy plant.

I hear crab meal has got something in it similar to the hormone/chemical released by plants when there attacked/eaten by something.

I gotta research it my my self a bit more

I hear its the goods tho
