Hi Ztelthy here, I was just thinking since Blue spectrum is required for Veg, and Red spectrum for Flower.. would it be beneficial in any way to have say a metallic Blue or Aqua Blue coloured reflective metal reflector for Vegging (as well as a 250w 6500k Metal Halide)...and a Red Tinted metal reflective reflector for Flower (along side a SON-T HPS or Dual Spec HPS... ????????

The idea suddenly came to me whilst searching for a cheap old reflector so I can modify it for my Stealth Cab... I wonder if coloured reflectors would help in any way ?? Thoughts ???

they would absorb too much light, imo

I think you maybe right!? ..I wonder if the idea would work though in theory (altering spectrum for better even though less overall light is reflected) ...cos in small grow ops the lamp underneath the reflector will still produce enough light for the grow.. I just wonder if the added color from the reflective Aluminium would help in anyway as an extra..if you like :) ?? - ZTELTHY - :leaf:

A red reflector only reflects what red light is there already surely?

Whilst this is true, would the reflector being 'Red Mylar/Blue Mylar' assist the reflected light in achieving a wider spectrum, As well as reflecting the red/blue output from the lamp its-self...perhaps in theory like having the added spectrum of LED's (HID reflected on Colored Mylar) shining down around the HID light output ?? - ZTELTHY :leaf:
