I see this is a old post but what the hell. I just started from page one. I like to read every thread start to finish.Well nice to see the conversation picking up already. I acquired 2 new nutrient additives today...General Organics Bio Root and Diamond Black. The only part of the line I have yet to try is the Bio Marine fish emulsion...have to finish off my Neptune's Harvest first then maybe I'll try it.
I only managed to get pics of the same 4 flowering plants today...there are 6 additional vegging and 2 flowering, and I hope to get some shots of those up soon. But for now, we'll focus on the big four.
First, Critical Jack. Quickly becoming a favorite with her strong growth, wonderful stink and early trichome production.
As you can see she has tried to spread out horizontally much to my chagrin. After I took these pics, I brought a couple of her branches a little more inline with the pot and tightened some strings. I may have also added another bamboo pole, but I don't remember now.
Here's one of her branches close up. I think I'm going to be quite happy with this plant when it's all said and done.
Next, Pineapple Chunk. A bit droopy in the pic because these were taken pre-watering. A very nice branching plant in her own right, but a bit behind the critical jack developmentally. This plant smelled the strongest during veg..

Casey Jones...where to begin with this one. In the days between the first post and now, she has maybe pushed out 1 new set of calyxes per node, while stretching an additional 50 nodes! Ok, a bit of an embellishment, but she is all stretch and no bud over 1 month after beginning flower!
Not helping matters is the fact she was a little thirsty at the time of her photo shoot, making her a little droopy...again, it was pre-watering...but it is hard to tell what the hell is going on in this bush. As you can see I had to supercrop a few more branches...many for the second or even third time already. I may have to do some serious pruning on this bitch soon. I suppose you guys were right about all the sativa referenced in the above posts. Exceptionally superb bud though, whenever it gets around to forming those.
While the Casey Jones branches the most of any plant I've every grown, this Afghan Kush is the polar opposite, which is not all that surprising given it's genetic makeup and country of origin. I mean it fought hard to not branch at all during veg. The fact it grew a second and third branch (one of which I cloned) is nothing short of miraculous. But the nodes are the main cola are tightly packed and exploding with calyxes.
This pictures don't do it justice. But this thing is going to get nasty.
And that's where the fun stops today. I will try my best to get pics of the other 8 plants I'm growing pronto. Many will likely be transplanted in the coming days...especially the Casey Jones, who I put into one of the flowering spaces this morning.

Hey Jerry...how come your leaves look so nice and shiney and like there is a wax layer on them? I see some peoples leaves like that. Mine never look like that. Is it the strains that cause this or some type of folier feed?

No foliar feeding. Some strains just do it more than others. Adequate nutrient ratios help too. I don't think they look that waxy in person either.

Things are chugging right along these days. Both Tahoe OGs, both Sour OGs, and the LSD are all 48 days under 12/12. NYC Diesel, Querkle, and Space Queen are 31 days, and the Sharksbreath is 21.
Sour OG #4. Has a very pleasant grape taste. I would say it tastes purple, which makes sense.
Sour OG #3. Much more diesel tasting than #4. Nice blend of Diesel/Kush. Calyxes are really starting to swell up nicely too.
Tahoe OG #3. We are already familiar with the frost she puts out. Still has a lavender soap taste when smoked.
Tahoe #2. Hands down my favorite smoke. Sweet OG Kush is the only way to describe it. Too bad it grows like this.
Re-vegged LSD. I have to say that this plant is the most medicinally beneficial. Any time my girlfriend feels nauseous or has a headache or PMS or anything this is the strain we vaporize. It will also make you forget who you are and what you are doing
Sharksbreath! Can't wait to get some lambsbread back into my life...I had a bag of it once long ago it was the finest bud. Would love to get pure lambsbread in seed form...
NYC Diesel. A few branches got pollinated, likely from the Querkles and Space Queens which it brushes up against constantly. Should make a fun cross though if the seeds mature sufficiently.
You can see a little seed growing away in this bud. This one seems to have developed before the Querkle so it could be Sour OG pollen or something else entirely.
Space Queen 1-3. Didn't feel like taking them out because they're tall and in the back. They're doing nicely though.
Querkle #3. Coming along. One of the calyxes is definitely turning purple...
Querkle #2. Slightly taller than the other.
These next few are vegging under my 400w MH.
Reserva Privada Sour Diesel #4
RP Sour Diesel #2. Very promising...will be used for breeding whether male or female.
Amnesia Lemon. Ready for flower.

I didn't get pics of the Cali Connect Sour Diesel or the Jamaican Me Crazy. The CC Sour D got burnt by my soil mix after transplanting (at least that's what I think it is). The middle set of leaves are all sorts of screwed up, the the rest of the plant looks fine. And its like that for all 4. The JMC look fine though. Not a big deal...I'll get some pics later today.

liking the update jerry, would u say the tahoe is a heavier feeder than the sour OG's? and also how far do u keep your lights from the canopy on the 400 & 600? thanks jerry

I ended up feeding the large Tahoe 3 and Sour 3 the same amount, both liquid and mixed with the soil. The Tahoe did start to fade a littler faster, so I guess that means it was a heavier feeder. The Tahoe 2 and Sour 4 both received the same amount of nutes and are pretty comparable, so I don't know.
As for the canopy, it's always as close as I can get it! The Tahoes and Sours are pretty tall, so I put them on the periphery of the tent, along with the Space Queen. I put the NYCD directly under the light, and it is probably about 2 feet below it. Sometimes I think raising the light might help distribute the light better, but I don't want to do that so I make it work.
As for the 400w MH, the tops are about 6-12 inches away. The winter lets me really get up close and personal with it.

Never used it. The ratios look ok, 3-1-3 for grow and 4-3-6 for bloom, though I would probably combine them myself. The only way I judge products is by their ingredients, and while the iguana juice has good stuff (alfalfa, brewers yeast) it seems a little lacking. I'm sure they want you to use their other products to fill it out, like most fertilizer companies.

Not sure how much it costs, but it is probably too much. I don't hate on AN, just never used them.
I have to say as far as ease of application goes the General Organics line has been wonderful. I've read people say Earth Juice really messes with pH, so you should bubble it first, but that sounds like a pain. I never have to bubble OR pH with the GO...ever.
The only other Organic nutrients I've used are BMO, and I still use their Super Plant Tonic.

All I use is my trusty 5ml (1 tsp) measuring spoon. All the GO stuff is pretty concentrated, with recommended dosages ranging from 1/2-2 tsp per gallon for most products (the primary BioThrive Grow and BioThrive Bloom call for 2-4 tsp, which I often combine to a total of 2-4 tsp depending on growth stage). Just measure, pour into a gallon and shake/mix.
One caveat to this is that my base soil contains a fair amount of nutrients: Mexican high-N bat guano/azomite/kelp meal/dolomite lime/worm castings (30-45% of the total soil mix is worm castings), so I can't attest to how using the GO line as a standalone source of nutrients with straight Roots or Ocean Forest or Sunshine or anything else would work.
Once I transplant into the final pot, I only give water for the first feeding, then start adding supplements. The BioRoot, Diamond Black, and BioWeed are awesome...really top of the line stuff IMO...and low enough in NPK that I start adding them the second watering. The Diamond Black (liquid humic acids derived from Leonardite) really helps build soil structure and tilth...probably the single most important product in their line. Before I used it my plants would visibly wilt when they were just starting to get thirsty, now they can go an extra day or two and still not wilt.
I slowly begin to incorporate the Grow and Bloom nutes, as well as the Cal-Mag and BioBud. Highly recommend the BioBud too. I typically will alternate feeding water-only and nutrients every other watering, though recently I've begun experimenting with Hygrozyme applied during my water-only feeding. Typically I use heavy strength nutrients when feeding every other watering, though sometimes I give light nutrient applications (using SOME of the following: Neptune's Harvest, FoxFarm Big Bloom, BioWeed, BioRoot, Diamond Black) instead of water-only if the plants look like they need a little extra.
I haven't used the GO BioMarine yet, but I will soon, as my Neptune's Harvest is almost gone. It looks like a mellow, alternative source of light N-P-K, which is exactly what I like to use fish ferts for, but I can't attest to its effectiveness yet.
I also combine the BMO Super Plant Tonic 2tsp per gallon with the other nutrients during feeding.

was turned on to these by my uncle. he says best and easiest nutes he ever used. i can tell ya he had great results.
he grows in soil. i guess you cant use them in aeroponics or with hydroton but ya can in other hydo apps.
