Here is my new 20k watt medical grow room. just finishing up the electrical and final touches, so i decided to show it off a little bit. first a parts list....

20x Quantum 1k Watt ballast (not my preferred ballast, but can't argue with free)
20x Melon Head 8" Air Cooled Tube Hoods
10x Hortilux Super HPS bulbs
10x Hortilux Super Blue MH Bulbs
6x 8" CAN Fans
4x 12" CAN Fans
4x CAN 75 Filters
2x Titan Co2 Controlers
2x Titan Co2 Burners
2x Titan Power Box
2x 48 site Greentrees Ebb and Flow Bucket systems
2x 2 TON Split System A/C Units (also has central air)
4x 100ft. Rolls of Orca Film for reflective material
Merlin 700 GPD RO
3x 55 Gallon drums for RO Res.

basically i built this as 2 10k watt rooms so that if i chose i can alternate harvest and get a perpetual thing going. We are in Cali and have a medical patients collective so this is all legal etc. we will most likely be growing my strain Havoc OG and maybe some blue dream for big yielding. Both rooms are sealed setups and I am going to run them with 1500 PPM of Co2. The lights as you can see are interchanging MH and HPS for full spectrum. Later in the grow i might also add in a few CMH 400 Watts for UVB light. We will be using House and Garden base nutrients Coco A+B with Aptus Supplements in Coco as our medium. stay tuned i will keep this journal very updated at least once or twice a week. now enjoy the pictures!

Very nice man! I see you got a ductless split AC there. I just picked up a 18000 btu klimair ductless split and the thing kicks ass. Is that your first split? What are the specs on that?

Nice setup, how long u plan on veging in there? My setup is pretty similar to yours (on a much smaller scale but plenty of space for expansion). Although I don't have co2 or a RO filter or any of that great stuff.

Have you grown with 48 sites on 1 res before? I guess your using3 reses but how much do those plants drink every day in heavy flower?

Edit you have 2 ductless ACs, damn that's badass!

yes this is one of 3 20k watt rooms i have. these are 24k BTU Shinco units i think a 15 sear 2 head units. i have a set of LG splits at my other warehouse.
i plan on vegging for 3 weeks or so.
i have grown the 48 sites many times i have i think 7 or 8 of these systems they use 1 55 gallon res per 48 sites. the 3 other resi are for pure RO water to fill the nute res. i change my res once a week usually in heavy flower the plants will drink about half a 55 gallon in a week depending on strain. i have had plants drink damn near a whole drum before when we had a small heat issue in my other location. (i'm sure some was evaporation, but still)

So do you top the res off when they drink that much? When you top, do you also add nutes?

Also being 2 head, are you running 2 inside units on each outside unit on those ACs?

I would HATE to have to pay your electricity bill

it really depends. i am in starting flower in my other warehouse right now and after 7 days they drink approx. 15 gallons by the time i have to change res. so i dont top off. IF they drink a bunch in a short amount of time say 3 days and the drums are half full then i will drain and mix a fresh batch of nutes because i figure they probably took up all the nutes they wanted in that batch, so i want to give them fresh stuff instead of adding to it and having less or more of nutes.

it takes about half of the drum to fill all the pots so it works out. also depending on my mediums they drink at a different rate. if i have them in coco they drink less than if they are in hydroton. i believe this is due to coco holding more water than hydroton and the evaporation of nute solution in hydroton is much faster than coco

Man, that is a legit setup for sure! I wish I had that kinda scratch to work with. While I'm here, mind if I pick your brain a little about CMH's? Is there a noticible difference in the temp with the 400's? Anyway, since you're in SoCal, and I'm in SoCal, I might be checking up on this one every now and then!

i love answering questions lol if people didnt answer mine i wouldnt be where i am now :)

anyway ya the CMH is amazing we laser heat gunned the bulb at 100 degrees i can have my hand literally 2 inches from bare bulb and its warm any normal bulb ur fucked lol honestly you could touch the bulb but i dont wanna risk it breaking due to oil on fingers etc.

the growth is incredible i am changing all my 1000w veg lights to 400s believe it or not i get better vegging with the 400w cmh than with 1000w mh close nodes everything is better. i attribute this to the extremely broad spectrum of light it puts out

if a 600w comes out i am switching all my 1000s over to that
