idk your weather or how much light you receive a day, but if the days are short then expect it to start flowering right when it is mature enough.

Right now Cali is getting about 9 1/2 hr. of sunlight. Might want to give it a few more weeks.

You don't want to wait.
The plants will flower as long at the light is 12 hours or less for most plants. (the days are getting longer)
I don't have out my almanac, but you don't want the days to get lighter longer, eventually they will stop flowering and try to veg.

They won't veg outside, just flower at this time of the year.
If you veg till April, I bet they veg til September.

CaroKann the results will depend on the weather, particularly temps and strain.
At this time of year they will flower almost immediately if the weather is favorable and the plants are not too stressed.
If these have been grown under anything but sun or HID up to now they will have to be introduced to full sun gradually to avoid severe stress.
Expect very slow growth and extended flower period if we have typical temps for this time of year. Most of the bud developement will occur during the last couple of weeks as daylight hours and temperatures increase.
The #1 reason for this slow growth is cold roots. Figure when the roots are below 60 degrees at least 16 hours a day the plant essentially goes dormant. It then takes a few days of warmer temps to get started again.
Be very careful to not overnute or overwater. Both can kill the plant when the soil is cold most of the day and night.
Yes I have done this. It was done with the advantage of a greenhouse. Blue dream did OK. Master kush eventually matured but produced a very small mediocre crop. My experiment was purposely during the months of December and January. In fact flip was the day before thanksgiving.
Your grow will be at the mercy of the weather. Pray for warm and dry. Hope this helps.

I'm growing outdoor in central cali right now, we had over a week straight of 25 degrees and my babies are still thriving strong

Pics of my outdoor BD flipped the day before thanksgiving this year. No heat or extra lighting. Did move to greenhouse for rain.
Obviously flowering slower than indoor or summer but should make some decent nug.
