Nice. I like the idea of topping the JTR, and leaving the Indicas untopped. Great things ahead!

So pissed i made my autopots a top feed recirculating system lol!! do you ph? autopots state they dont need to be ph'd.. just curiousity
Hey maddog - I don't ph with supersoil because of the lime that keeps ph in check. I did ph when I ran hydro nutrients. I found the ph to be pretty stable with hydroton as long as your reservoir water was kept around 6.3. With organic hydro nutrients the ph does swing as the nutrients break down into plant consumable compounds.

Hey YTM - the kids are looking good. I am going to get another photo shoot going soon.

I noticed you are using the Roots brand root pruning pots that I use. This is my first time with them but I think I like 'em. Have you used them before? I'm anxious to see the root development when I transplant. It seems like the bottom 2/3 of the pot is pretty compact. I'm guessing that means the root mass is filling out nicely.

All those felt pots work pretty well... at least they did for me. Last time I used the square plastic pots... oh what are they called-- ROOT MAKERS... that's the name... they have holes in them, too, and did the same thing. At least from what I could tell... :peace:

oh, and Med, has it snowed there yet?? Halloween was always snow time... and get real drunk time, too. And then chase tail time!

Thanks Bobo. Snow is heading our way this week. It was such a beautiful weekend I knew the fluff would be flying soon. Calm before the storm you know. We are supposed to get 6" on Wednesday.

As for drunken tail chasing, the Mall Crawl is making a comeback.

Ya its my first time using them too. I've liked really liked them so far! but i am comparing them to plastic pots. The bottom of my pots are also quite compact, so i do believe you are correct. How often have you used your great white? i use it once maybe twice every two weeks.

I have been a bit sporadic with the Great White on previous grows. This time around I'm going to try to be consistent at once every 2 weeks.

Hi Gang - we are just over the one month mark since the kids broke ground. So far we've topped the JTRs and left the indicas natural. We've "fed" twice with Great White and just recently topped the pots up with more soil. The JTRs got an inch of Supersoil, the AK got a half inch of Supersoil and the Ketama got plain Roots. The average height of the plants is about 7 inches.

I tried to sex them tonight but it's a bit too early. I am pretty sure JTR 1 is a girl but the rest aren't really showing their stuff yet.

So let's bring out the little ones...

Looking great Medshed, both JTR 1 and Ketama have some serious stem girth going on!...now that I take a second look they are all pretty fat!

Good eye bshdctr. It's hard to tell from pictures sometimes but those two are my favorites so far. I would be perfectly happy if JTR 1 turns out to be a girl. It look to be the most sativa dominant in leaf structure and the most vigorous. I didn't mention it earlier but Ketama and Afghan Kush are both from feminized seed. I've never tried fem'd seeds before so I'm curious to see how they turn out. Ketama definitely looks good. The AK is looking better but she started out looking a little rough. She is definitely the runt of the litter at this stage.

Glad I found this meshed. I just ordered jtr and am watching this grow with great interest. Dairy queen and especially Chernobyl blew me away. So I have high expectations for jtr.

Welcome aboard Dannyboy. I haven't tried JTR either but Pandora's Box (JTR x Space Queen) is my favorite daytime strain at the moment. She was a pleasure to grow too. I've run Dairy Queen twice now, indoors and outdoors, but I don't think I'll run her again (at least for a while). I really like the DQ high, in fact the outdoor run was better than the indoor. Unfortunately, I seem to build a tolerance to her pretty quickly. I haven't heard of that being a general problem with DQ so maybe it's just me.

The kids are looking top notch fella! Let's hope they aren't pushing out too many nanners, eh? Given your low stress environment and extra TLC, I think you'll have a good male:female ratio working for ya.

What's your experience been with Roots? I used it for my last few grows, and swore every time I was going to amend it will Lime, and then didn't (also swore I'd do SuperSoil, but haven't---- yet!). Because of that I was constantly battling the Cal/Mg gods, even with using my GO Cal/Mg. At least with the Cheese that was the case... she's a real Cal/Mg whore! ;)

Alright man, back to the grindstone. Thing's have been real busy around here lately... altho much less so without the grow going on :( I need to find a new space for my girls real soon. I've got a cut of Orange Crush that is a MENTAL daytime smoke, and a bunch of seeds I'm itching to crack. As soon as it's back on, it's ON, ifyouknowwhatImean. And by that I mean, "Time to buy some muthafukin' Pandora's Box"

Thanks Bobo. I have only used Roots in conjunction with Supersoil so I can't speak much on how it does ny itself except for the first month of veg. I haven't seen any problems there though. I did get some gnats in this batch but they went away pretty quickly after a good soaking of Azamax.

I'm just gonna keep you salivating with my Pandora's Box praise until you get your own grow going.

Azamax is the kill all, eh? I like that stuff, altho when I dipped some Cheese cuttings in it, they weren't as stoked. I think some strains don't like it as much as others, but it WORKS. They pulled through anyhow.

Dude, keep that praise coming... you know I'll be over here jonesing, just thinking about what she's like.... hmmmm. I'm gonna go get high! lol Off to run errands. :peace:

Hola Rollers! So much has happened since the last update. The girls (down to 3) are looking good and just got the flip to 12/12.

We're in the Autopots now. Jack the Ripper got 2/3 of a pot full of Supersoil. Afghan Kush got 1/2 Supersoil. Ketama is in straight Roots. Everyone got another round of Great White as part of the transplant.

Ketama is supposed to thrive in a low nutrient environment. I guess we'll see how she does on straight Roots through the whole grow.

I also converted the Autopots to air root-pruners. I got this idea off of the work that Hobbes did on RIU before he disappeared. He showed some good results of air pruning 5 gallon buckets vs. regular buckets. Since the Autopots seemed to stay a bit more moist than I'd like with the Supersoil in previous grows I figured the air pruning modification would be good. I guess we'll see but so far, so good.

Here's a look at the modified Autopot:

We started with 3 JTRs and I was excited to see that JTR 1 was a female. She was the most sativa leaning in leaf structure, but also had the tightest inter nodal spacing. The other 2 JTRs turned out to be male, but I would have killed them anyway in favor of JTR1. Let's have a look at the lucky lady...

Next up is the Ketama. This girl is pretty lanky for a supposedly 100% Indica. Had I known she was going to get this tall I probably would have topped her. I guess we'll see how much she stretches now that they are in flower.
View attachment 1880220View attachment 1880221

Last but not least we have the Afghan Kush. She's staying short like you would expect. She's also putting out some huge Indica leaves.

That's all for now...

Thanks Snafu. Glad to have you aboard. I'm watching your Blueberry grow as well. It has been a long time since I had Blueberry but I do recall good things about it.
