Sannies' Jack @ 9 wks harvest. I chopped these 2 plants early to save space and turn off some a light, etc. The high on this is very intense like a super silver haze. I've had both in amsterdam and this is from my first grow of the jack herer. The taste is a strong peppery spice and so is the smell. Complete sativa as advertised. I think this Sannies version has a little more sativa and less haze effect than the other Jacks that I've had. I'm guessing the others were the sensi seeds derived versions. I'm still growing out the other 6 so maybe the longer flowering time will make a more haze like high? tbd.

Looks delicious

FWIW, "Jack Herer" definitely goes "back there".

While, like all these things, there are varying stories floating out there about exactly how it was created and by whom, in this case, I think everyone agrees the plant's lineage is a combination of "elite" cuts of the best prototypical strains around in the late 80s/early '90s: Northern Lights, Skunk, and Haze.

Again, Super Silver Haze is a fairly similar strain, just involving a different selection from effectively the same lineage.

And even though this strain is every bit of 20+ years old now (it actually took first place in the High Times Cannabis cup in 1994), its *still* one of the best strains out there in terms of taste, effect, and pure potency, kind of disproving the idea that today's "wonder" strains are head and shoulders above everything else that came before.

Not sure how many people would say "todays" is head and shoulders. Looks to me like the mid 90s is one of the best periods in MJ growing. Today's is head and shoulders above that stuff going around in the 70s though.

i got my jack from a freind, who traded me a clone, for one of my bc god bud. we were both happy. mine, is from sensi, and is called the "squat" pheno, i believe. my outdoor, are 6' high. indoor, i get like 2-3 ozs. outdoor, near a lb. lemony/wintergreen taste. semi firm nugs. the smell of burning jack herer, is "what pot smells like". if this makes any sense. the buzz is both up and down. mine is like 60% sativa. the max that i like..never, ever, had a nanner on this. rock solid genetics. probably the most easy to take into the lungs. a joy to smoke. a terrific joint weed! moderate odor while growing. tons of trichs!-even under the leaves, and down the stems. one of the highest trichs i have had, other than alien dawg.

I just got finished with a GHS Jack Herer. DEFINITELY not the original, seem 100% indica to me lol. BUT, it was some of the best smelling, tasting, bag appeal bud I've grown in awhile. Go figure. Mine was a freebie. I took a clone off it and I'm gonna grow this one into a tree because it yields kinda small.
thanks i found this post...i have a JH from green house in week 3 of flowering and i`ve been wondering why this JH is like an indica plant....now i know im not alone with this...also had this sweet smell ....hope ends with the smell and taste like yours....how about the high?????

there's a REASON jack herer was given the title "holy grail" strain... it's a legit high that you don't have to wait 15 weeks for as your plants lift the roof off your house. i used to avoid it because of mentions of skunking and stoning and started out on decent, nut less inspiring C99 as it's low odor with a reputation for being energetic, but joey weed's version was totally clearheaded along the lines of kali mist, but not as speedy and euphoric. it's a nice buzz, but psychoactivity is what getting high is all about to me. i started out getting spoiled on trippy ass columbian gold.

i REALLY like what i've seen from jack herers so far. the autojack i tested was OK and not unlike a generic haze, but TGA's jack's cleaner 2 kicks so much ass! it's the trippiest shit i've smoked i can put a name to since the 80s other than a smoke session i had with something i'm sure was columbian gold or a hybrid as it had the same effects and wheatgrass taste.

JC2 does visuals! i noticed it had me imagining ripples of tie dye color where i was stroking my arms that made me laugh my ass off once i realized i'd FINALLY smoked something trippy again. it also had a really cool touchy feely effect, not unlike diesel based and more energetic onyx which was why i was massaging myself. i couldn't stop playing footsie with myself on onyx. i loved that buzz, but not the diesel flavor. yuck! there was a fair amount of stone in JC2 though. it was functional, but it had a thump with a warm body glow too. it's a nice complex high with a lot of fun traits and not too much stone.

jack the ripper & killing fields are reportedly extra trippy and likely more energetic. the names rub me the wrong way though.

sannie's jack f7 is next on my shopping list. i'm hoping it's as trippy and maybe more motivational. it takes 2-3 weeks longer which is a "good sign" though cash crappers would disagree. the consensus seems to be that sannie's ans sensi's jack herers are 2 of the best "originals".

i was really impressed by CH9's jack too, though it was overshadowed by trippier JC2 and DNA sweet haze. it has some stone to it, but at a functional mid level with nice potency and euphoria. i want to re-test it for better notes because it's really compact and indica looking and potentially a great breeder for 12 week plus IBLs. i didn't want to like it when i saw how indica it looked, but it wasn't skunky and it was no more stony than mid and way better than the crap on the streets for sure. i'm also going to test CH9's jack 33 as it's described as laugh your ass euphoric when it's jack sibling isn't shabby at all in the happy pill department.

jack herer and hybrids do kick a lot of ass, especially in strains that finish in as little as 9 weeks! you never see anything that fun on the streets! i plan on testing a critical jack hybrid freebie i got too soon as so far JH is the best performing quick finishing strain i've tried so far. i'm thinking hitting JC2, jack f7 and others up with lemony pure sativa malawi gold has to be something spectacular if holy smoke's gold lives up to the trippy rep that so many thai and haze hybrids don't.

add my vote to the jack herer fan club! that shit should be on every fucking corner as that's what most people REALLY want! hey, if you you prefer getting high, or even getting stoned, whatever, do me a favor and drop by my poll and cast a vote for your preference.
https://www.rollitup.org/toke-n-talk/574378-do-you-prefer-getting-high.html

right now, the votes are:
17% high and nothing but high
20% preferring highs or light highs
41% in the middle liking both or mids
&
22% showing a preference for stones or light stones with not a single vote for stoned only, just as i've always suspected, yet in so many places, all you can score is afghanicrap. that's why i even grow, because it's the only way to fight the stoner conspiracy to give people what they don't actually want, all for the the almighty dollar, or even something more sinister maybe.

BTW, for those of you that don't know, jack herer and super silver haze were both bred from the exact same parents, but in a different breeding order with jack expressing more haze and super silver expressing NL#5 more. super silver has won more awards than any other strain if memory serves me right, but hazier jack has to kick it's ass as far as i'm concerned. i can't wait to try sannie's jack f7 and see what authentic jack herer is like. i will be very surprised if i don't like it.

How do you work out they have the same parents?
If one uses "Silver (Skunk) haze" male the other "Silver (Skunk) haze" female how can they have the same parents.

Maybe grandparents .

When we going to see one of these strains you keep saying you have "tested" completed from you? or are you talking about how the "budtrim" does again.

@The Mantis
I can really tell that you chopped early from the pics.

I've got Jack-47. We'll find out soon how good it is. I have high hopes though.

The picture is from a instant camera (rather then digital), from about 1999. It shows a Haze dominante Jack Herer flowered under fluroscent lights.

Looks pretty good for fluros. The breeder was Canadian Willy Jack. Willy Jack's process of selection was 50 seeds from amsterdam from Sensi Seeds.

We ordered from the original seed bank back in 89. consisting of Garlic bud, Durbin poison, and some experemental stock they were working with. 10 years later I came up with a similar idea the starter of this thread had. Jack Herer seemed to be the best of all the strains I had orderd from Marc Emery. But of course stuff like "fucking incredible" or "Texda Time Warp" were always sold out...

First picture is the lowest seeded bud on the same fluroscent grown, Haze dominate Jack Herer. Pollinated with "Wonderbud"

b101.PNG Second pic, is "Fantasia" this was one of the most interesting, and wonderful tasting plants I've ever smoked.b100.jpg Fantasia was the cross of the Haze dom. Jack and Wonderbud. The Haze dom. Jack Herer was one of 3 sister plants I found in a 10 pack of Willy Jack's, Jack Herer.
