Who is the original breeder of Jack? Who has the true Jack available from seed, non feminized? I am looking to grow this legendary strain but I want the real deal, not some cross or interpretation of it.

Daaaayum that is expensive. Oh well it's probably worth. Cheers and thank you natro.hydro!

Any other legendary strains you all would recommend for someone who smoked no name street herb most his life?

Anything with cheese in it, but im from the dairy state so naturally I love cheese lol. Guess it depends on what kind of high you like more than anything.

Kali Mist- Serious Seeds. I've been growing it a few years now. I'm not a real heavy smoker, but for the likes of me, it's impressive weed. I don't think you can find too many people, who've smoked it, that would disagree.

Never really heard many bad things about Sannies. I'm trying Sensi for the first time (MLI), and thought they had some high prices, but you know the old adage "you get what you pay for". If I have a good experience, and so far so good, I could see myself shelling out money for that. I figure even just one female from a pack (as long as it isn't utter shit) pays for it all with just one go round. Cloning takes the price down each go, so there's always that way to look at it.

Hell ya droopy. Kali Mist is my favorite smoke. I lost my old seed-stock mama to a flood, and re-upped on some newer seeds that they have apparently cut with some Indica (bad move by them). It wasn't how I remembered it.

Trying some Western Winds now to see if it's more like the original.....

Here's a question, what changed in the new kali mist? Serious is on my list of "buy and try" and I know people wax poetically about the older kali mist and not the newer. Reminds me of how they changed chronic as well. Was it the introduction of ak47? I use to get off this couple who grew some straight up amazing Ak47 and White Russian.

Better question I suppose is why did they introduce it?

I believe they introduced some Afghani genetics to shorten the flower time. The one I had wasn't ready until 100+ days flower. That's a long haul for most people, and I think they believed it would have broader appeal if they could shorten it up a bit. Totally changed the high. I found it mediocre.

I have grown that, the chronic, bubblegum, and AK-47 from them. I highly recommend the AK-47 (make sure your carbon filter is ready)....... I found the chronic and bubblegum to be just OK.

I bought into the strain in 2010. The plant I keep around is just right for me. If it was even better back in the day, I can see why it's always had such a stellar reputation. My 2010 version is fucking fantastic, in my opinion. Lets us know what you think of the WW when the time comes.

Cheers guys. I actually have a pack of Kali Mist that I have been holding onto for over 5 years. Hopefully I have the older version? AK47 is on my list as well. I had a pack of AK's going and ended up having to kill them all.

I'm also interested in cheese but there are so many cheeses out there. Who is the original creator of cheese?

Also OG Kush. Is this a true clone only cut or is it available from seed?

Also I will definitely check out Sannies. I'm not necessarily looking to save money but I do appreciate good value when I can find it. I just really want to legitimately try some of these legendary strains I have seen in the mags and heard about on the internet since I was a youngster.

Nothing wrong with value mate. I'm all about it, a reason I have a hard time swallowing Dr. GT genetics. I know they are good, I've enjoyed the finish product, perhaps it's more of a principle is all.

Thanks St0w, I was always wondering. Sad that the chronic has changed, I kinda want that old school chronic. Yes I think AK47 will be my dipping my feet in the water, I honestly loved it. Very heady high with a nice gentle let down, had a rush upon first toke.

The story goes that the change happened in 2000. That's why people who talk about it, call it pre-2000 KM. Mine is from the same era as your seeds and I can say that all the females I had were good, with one that was a standout. Fire them beans up! I guarantee you the worst that will happen is some good weed, even if it's not your all time favorite.

For sure. All it takes is one that leans towards that old school KM and you'll be a happy camper!

There's a story going around that since Ben sold Sensi they have had to redo some of their lines due to losing parent plants. Jack Herer is said to be included and I never see grow reports on it so I can't really say either way. It's way overpriced, I know that for a fact.

Sannies has a regular and feminized version that he's been working for like 15 years. People who grow it seem to like it A LOT. I will say though, I haven't yet although I plan to very soon. I think it's more lemony than peppery. Very stable, worked from original Jack Herer stock.

I have limited experience with Kali Mist but I wasn't that impressed. From a dispensary so who really knows how good a representation it was, but you could definitely tell there was some indica in there. Fruity smelling, small dense buds. Not really great IMO. I'd guess it was more recent stock. I'm curious about Western Winds.

The one I kept, looked pretty much just like the others, but right from seedling stage she smelled really good without even rubbing the stem. The taste is great and the exhaled smoke in the room smells like high quality opium. Everybody perks their eyebrows up the first time they hit a bowl or J. The high is great. It's not the strongest weed I've ever smoked, but it ranks right up there at the top. Plenty of euphoria and laughter if your in the mood for it.

I might have to reconsider going with the Sannies then. I don't like the idea that Sensi had to redo their lines combined with the high prices. If it were original I might have taken the plunge.

You guys are getting me really excited for the kali mist! Thanks for the wealth of knowledge guys. The more I post here the more I realize what a great community it is. So much knowledge here.
