couldn't hurt to take a few clones... I killed 2 out of my 3 clones but it taught me a lot (no nutrients and a humidity dome!)

I'll leave it to you but it wouldn't hurt to take some clones. the 1 that survived is now thriving.

I actually took my clones after flowering to ensure I had females... they will revert back but it takes longer for them to root and survive (probably decreases your chances of success also)

I took my clones when they were around 10 days of 12/12 light.

I've never heard of 36 hours of darkness before flipping but I assume it is to enduce flowering? and that you have read this somehwere reputable like a book?

I did 48 hours of darkness before harvesting and it seemed to really throw out a lot of trichs and bud production so I would recommend that in 8-9 weeks :D

Cloning will be fine, if you clone the tips you are essentually topping your plants.:) Uninterupted 36 hours of darkness will promt cannabis to flower.:hump:

If your feeling lucky you could flower the mothers after you take clones
. As for the pruning, Anything that looks heavily damaged or isn't receiving proper light gets whacked. Although i would advise against snipping any of the largest fan leaves if they are getting plenty of light but look a bit ill because the majority of energy is produced from fan leaves. I always top my plants to control the height, then supercrop them. if i were you i would consider topping or fiming.
This is where I get confused; if I take clones now I will have to be lucky for flowering from those mothers? When is it too late to top and/or fim? Thanks.

some people top in veg but i top after the first week of flowering, the clone remark was regarding taking clones then flowering the mother. the luck comes in with keeping the strain ie the clones healthy and alive. not saying cloning is hard but its risky if your unprepared. if i were you i'd top the plants now, wait a couple weeks, grab some clones and flower the mothers. you'll end up with some bomb ass smoke and still keep the strain. by the time you harvest the mother plants the clone will be ready to start flowering.

I'm eager to start flowering. Are you suggesting that cloning and topping too close together will stress the mother too much? What if I take some clones, start flowering and consider topping in a week or two? I thought that topping and dimming had to be done earlier in veg in order to give the new branches time to develop before flowering.

Fuck it, maybe I should just experiment by topping or fimming some and not others so I see for myself. With respect to the lankiest Sativa dominants I think I'll just go with bending.

no im saying you cant just take clones then flower the clones right away, they (the clones) need to veg for 2 weeks at least.

I'm not worried about the flowering timetable of the clones at this point. I'm primarily trying to do the best I can with these 10 plants, on my first grow. Whatever works out with clones will be gravy to me.
I have just moved the plants to the flowering tent. Now I'm going to go cut some clones. I've got 25 rock wood cubes, T5's, a humidity dome and heat pad waiting for them in a little propagation tent. Thanks for the feedback.

subbed, looking awesome for your first grow mate!

my 2cents though, would be not to grow so many in that size room. out of experience and fellow growers i know using similar sized rooms it is better to grow less plants but larger, opposed to more smaller plants.

take this guy for reference Heath robinson. massive grow, proved that 2 plants (weighed in 74 oz dry) compared to 8 plants (64 oz). mind you these are massive and would be hard to archive, but it just proves that bigger is better then more.

I have moved the 10 plants into a 4' x 8' tent with 2 600W HPS. I cut 15 clones from 8 of the plants and have them under 2 T5's and a humidity dome. Thanks for all the feedback.

The last 4 weeks of my grow journal with all its posts seems
to have mysteriously disappeared. Anyone have this happen to them?
