There taking advantage of the bear's getting all the limelight, crafty little pumas!!........

Here is a picture a sick twisted puma forced his victim to take the morning after!

I'm confused. Pumas/Cougars/Mountain lions/'panthers' are never or very rarely melanistic. Leopards and jaguars (otherwise known as 'black panthers') like the one pictured are, however. Did they escape from a zoo or something?

No i am sure that they came from the mountains, there home was featured on MTVs Cribs.......No zoos about here apart from the bars on the weekend.

Kuroi, I suspect someone is having a bit of fun. That photo looks just a bit cozy to have been taken by someone who wasn't on a friendly basis with Mr. Inkypaws there. Also, I'd like to take a moment to direct attention to any tales of bears snatching kids to the likely culprits, who also travel in packs. cn

I am picky about who touches me. Those who attempt to pet me either lose limbs or I am forever all over them. The trick is to get the first scratch behind the ear perfect.

I suppose a shitty apartment block counts as the wild. But I am happier in the woods or the bush.

Thanks for clarifying, Neer Neer. I love the buttons and I am pretty sure that is a melanistic leopard and you don't really get those over there.

It was your post about melanistic Felis concolor that got me ta' thinkin', Kuroi. I went on the Internet, and I found this. (J. Clarkson voice) cn

Good work Neer Neer. I was debating which of the two it was. Not seeing the entire body's proportions and looking at it on my phone didn't help... But I've never seen a black cougar. Black tigers are apparently more heard of. I'd love to see one. I've seen a golden tabby tiger in person and it was stunning

Creature Comforts is awesome. But now, steak is on my mind.

I have one of those as a neighbor ... Black Cougar, she seems to be a bit feisty, definitely on the prowl.

When I lived in central Florida, I took the back roads home a few times, pulled over in a swampish area to relieve myself. I heard something in the bushes, flashed a flashlight into the bushes and saw a black panther... I freaked out and bailed... I like cougars, of the two legged kind.
