Its been a while, whats the score with LED lights nowadays?

Its been a while since I posted, I have since been enjoying the fruits of my labour. I was always very instrested in LED lights and closey followed a few users grow journals. But, that was almost 12 months ago...I havent been following the latest tech in that repect.

I was on http://www.alibaba.com/ looking for some things and noticed the led lights have tumbled in price, some stores will put in any combination of colour/wavelengths you want. Some seemed to be quite powerful.

I was going to splash out on a lumatek 600w dimmable to replace my old one, but wanted to know what the experts on riu think?

Any thoughs/suggestions? Thanks as always

well I got 240w blackstar LED about a month ago. Its amazing. But before I got it, I was looking at blackstars LED and hydrogrowled. Blackstar is great but hydrogrowled has better LED, but more expensive. So if you want a good LED for a decent price. then I would go with the blackstar, I didn't have much money at the time so I could only afford the blackstar.

Once I start screwing them into my home light sockets I will consider.

You'll get all kinds of mixed opinions on this but I think it's safe to say, THE MAJORITY feel that they are a waste of time and money when compared to hid lighting. Great concept and they get better every year but the pricepoints are still out there and they still don't quite do it like a thowie. Just my .02 and certainly not intended to offend any led growers, lots of em are doing some great things with them. (but not what we do with 1000's, thats all,lol)

The majority that don't like LED, Don't even have a LED light. They look at the price and immediately don't want it. My fav quote of all time, you get what you pay for. their expensive for a reason. But thats why I got the 240w blackstar. So if you want something cheaper then the rest but worth your money, I would go with the blackstar.
