thing 1: goldberg's retarded takeaway:

Only obama would act this way! Especially on the day we celebrate the birth of our nation!

Obama warns Americans about too much patriotism — on July 4th weekend!
thing 2: obama's actual words:

The former US president said some countries had adopted “an aggressive kind of nationalism” and “increased resentment of minority groups”

“stand up for tolerance and moderation and respect for others"
how the fuck did you get thing 1 out of thing 2?

and when the fuck are you going to self-report to federal prison, you illegal welfare sponge?

Turkey bans Trans Pride march in Istanbul but organisers defiant

Istanbul (AFP) - Turkish authorities on Saturday banned transsexual rights activists from holding a planned march in Istanbul, the country's largest city, this weekend, a week after police used rubber bullets to thwart a Gay Pride parade.

Organisers however vowed to press ahead with the Trans Pride March, planned for Sunday afternoon, despite the ban.

The Istanbul governor's office said in a statement the march could not take place because the venue for the event -- the central Taksim Square -- was not suitable and because the office had not received a proper application for permission to hold the march.

"After an evaluation ... it has been decided not to give permission for the holding of this event," the office said in a statement.

City officials also urged citizens to ignore calls to participate in the parade and abide by the security forces' warning.

But the organisers wrote on their Facebook page that "we don't recognise bans... we will be at Taksim tomorrow for the Trans Pride."

The Trans Pride march, if held, would have been the eighth edition of the event, which promotes rights for transsexuals in Turkey, but it has suffered crackdowns in recent years.

Similarly, the Gay Pride parade had been held annually in Istanbul until 2015 -- an event routinely attended by thousands of people before a police crackdown.

Last Sunday, police fired rubber bullets at a group of around 40 activists attempting to hold a gay pride march, an AFP journalist reported, and at least four people were detained.

Witnesses said there was a heavy police presence which outnumbered the activists.

The year before, organisers were denied permission to march with the city on the edge over bombings blamed on Islamic State group and Kurdish militants, sparking anger from gay rights activists.

Critics have accused President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of having overseen a creeping Islamisation since he came to power, first as prime minister in 2003 and then president in 2014.

But authorities say they are merely acting in the interest of public security.

An illegal immigrant, who has been removed from the United States seven times, had consumed '12 beers and was driving at 100mph' when he crashed his van and killed a father-of-three.

Nemias Garcia-Velasco, 32, who is from Mexico, was going over 100mph when he lost control of his 2001 Dodge Ram work van and crashed, killing 58-year-old Silvano Torres.

Prosecutor Ryan Lindberg said Garcia-Velasco was driving down Interstate 80 around 1pm on Wednesday when the incident occurred.

Garcia-Velasco told officers that he had consumed 12 beers the previous evening into the morning of the crash, according to the Omaha World-Herald.

During Garcia-Velasco's hearing, Lindberg also said the man had been removed from the US a total of seven times.

After two deportation hearings, in 2009 and 2011, Garcia-Velasco was forced out of the country and the five other times were considered 'voluntary returns'.

Lindberg also added that Garcia-Velasco had also been convicted of having false citizenship papers prior to the crash, just a day after the Fourth of July holiday.

Another passenger, Jesus I. Gonzalez, 16, was treated at the hospital and released the day of the crash.

Garcia-Velasco suffered from severe burns to his face and was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center at the time.

Rosa Flores, who had been dating Torres, said he loved talking about his two daughters and his son.

Torres had documentation to be in the US, she told the Herald, adding that he had lived in Omaha for nearly six years.

The pair were on their way to their respective homes after leaving a job patching a roof because it got too hot.

Garcia-Velasco was charged with motor vehicle homicide in the death of Torres. His bail was set at $2 million.

Nancy Pelosi bizarrely giggles through question about NKorea aggression
What is wrong with Nancy Pelosi?

The House Minority Leader had a bizarre reaction as a reporter was asking her about North Korean aggression: She giggled.

Pelosi was fielding questions from reporters during her weekly press conference, and as she finished an answer about arts funding, one said, “Speaking of the arts,” as Pelosi giggled.

“Kim Jung In,” he continued, “has been celebrating their ICBM launch with some cultural” events, the reporter said as Pelosi laughed strangely.

Pelosi regained her composure as the reporter went on, before she sighed loudly into the microphone.

As the reporter finished asking his question about whether Pelosi thinks the administration will be able to protect the West Coast from an attack, she justified her bonafides by saying she’s “one of the few members of Congress to have visited Pyongyang.”
