it all starts with a gallon of gas

Do you just flip everything outside simultaneously, as soon as the first of May hits? Do you wait for a certain height in the plant, or flip them according to their strain or indica/sativa dominance later or earlier into the season?

Sorry if these are stupid questions. I'll read up on it in the MG's bible right now, but you're the authority fdd, any tips would be much appreciated.
how would i "flip" anything outside? i'm confused. the sun does it all. :-|:-?

I want to see you veg 6-8'ers indoors next year and then stick them outside to grow a little bigger... :)

Here are my AK/ATF crosses, hoping they turn out nice. I wish I knew of a good spot around here somewhere to stick a few outside, since I clearly don't have room for all this...

i started seedling well over a month ago. just got them all sexed. i have hella clones started as well. :blsmoke:
:leaf:FDD,
This is another fun thread, thanks.
I would like to plant some clones outside for the long season too but still unsure.

Our clones start out under the floros 24 hrs for about 2weeks with no dome just keeping things moist. Most take good rooting by then and then we move them into the HID/HPS lighting 23/1 for about 50-60 days and then they go outside in the 12/12 visqueen hot house with roll up shades.

Do you think it matters if the clones are coming out of 24 hr lighting or should I cut back on lighting time now to 16/8 ?:? On may 1 the daylight is similar here in Hawaii as is yours in Cali.......would you say 14 hr of daylight???:leaf:

I've heard of people doing that for fertilizer. Me personally, would use cow/chicken or any manure over Human waste.

Rather feed my plants grass fed cow poop then Mcdonalds fed human poop anyday. lol

So that the only things you compost FDD, apples, wood ash and trimmings? That provide a good N-P-K ratio for your girls?

Got my own compost going, Grass trimmings, wood ash from the fire place, veggie trimmings from the kitchen, avacado leaves, mary j trimmings from last year. Gotta add some apples now.

That'll be the day, when I can till a deep hole and fill it with great soil in my front yard garden. Think I could give ya a run for your money FDD :)

i clone at 24/0 then put them into 18/6 once they root.

i use nutes so i'm not too concern with loading up my soil. i want it to be nice and loose though.

:leaf:Thanks and Right on........that makes sense.
Looking forward to seeing you do your thing again this year.

Back in the 70's I was framing in Anchorage and in a small town just outside called Palmer. Beautiful agriculture valley Matanuska..............this is where the giants came from, tomatoes grow as big as watermellons, its sick. The strain is used to being in sunlight 23 hours a day for 1/2 the year, Matanuska Thunder F___K.

Is this one of your personal favorites??:bigjoint:

how do you sex your seed starts in 5 weeks or so, if you veg on a 18/6?

i get preflowers on most my plants in the past, but it takes 6 to 8 weeks for them to indicate, and some dont show preflowers until the light change.

thats kind of a wifes tale

i got family in alaska, and the solstice only give the 23/1 for about 7 weeks, (june 21, or Dec 21 is the 23 hour dark)
so, about 3 weeks on each side of june 21 does it get the 23/1 roughly.'

on march 21, (equinox) it is a 12/12 cycle outside, in N. Hemisphere.

by Sept 21 (equinox) it is a 12/12 cycle already.

so, it isnt 23/1 for 6 months like people think it is, otherwise, it would go from 23/1 to 1/23 in 1 day, then, in march, go from 1/23 back to 23/1. cant happen.
