ISO Great LED for New Legal Grow

That video is a joke, the DE fixture is tested at 3 feet and the LED is tested at 12 inches or less. If you put that light meter 12 inches from the DE fixture it will read much higher than the LED ever would.
you grow with the led 6 inch for the plants and hid 2-3 feet
the test was done how it is grown for the whole grow....

That's not an accurate test then if you measure at different distances. Also those guys got paid by those LED makers to give a favorable review.

lol u are smoking to much
jk

u cant grow with a hid 6 inch from the plant but u can with this led.

you test the light at the distance it can grow the plants not the same distance.
if the led had the same power output it would burn the plants..

The correct height is whatever produces the most light in the intended footprint. Why would you handicap a lamp that's designed to be used at 12 inches above canopy by using it at 3 feet? Nobody would do that. If it's not going to be used at 3 feet why would it be measured at 3 feet?

A lamp should be measured (and used) at whatever height provides the best footprint in the intended area. If two lights are designed to be used at different distances (and provides the best footprint at different distances) they should be measured at different distances. Nothing unfair about that.

@Yodaweed again that's the bulb not the fixture. Notice 1000 watts 400V those are bulb specs not the fixture. They do have reflector loss.

Gavita made the bulb after Phillips started to discontinue the Greenpower bulb. Phillips didn't but Gavita kept the bulb anyways. That's where that 400V EL lamp came from. A LAMP IS A BULB..... A FIXTURE IS A FIXTURE OR LUMINARY.......

Not true. The wattage is current x forward voltage. The electrical watts are dissipated by the LED in light and heat.
A half way decent LED 600W fixture will dissipate no more than 300W in heat.
That's completely wrong, how do you figure 600w of energy doesn't dissipate 600w of energy? Somehow you think it's cut in half by some magical forces because it's an LED?

https://www.rollitup.org/t/heat-from-1200w-of-1212s-vero-29s-cxm-22-cxb3590-compared-to-2x-600w.936071/

Read this thread and read up on the first law of thermodynamics.

1 watt of any source = 3.41 BTU

If you call light magic.

Thermal Dynamics is about heat transfer. Not electricity and not light.
We are talking about electricity being converted to light.
Do you understand photons carry energy?
And you know radiometric flux is measured in watts?
Where does the light's photon watts come from?

The electricity that is not converted to light is dissipated in the form of heat.
The ratio of light watts to wall watts is the efficacy.

An Olsen SSL red LED Radiant Efficiency: typ. 56%
Forward Voltage typ. = 2.15V
Test Current 350 mA
Wattage at test current = 2.15V x .350A = 0.7525 W
Maximum Light output at test current, Radiant Power = 0.56 Watts
Of the 0.7525 watts of electricity the radiant flux =0.56 w
0.7525w - 0.560w = 0.1925w of heat or 74.6% efficacy
That's not how it works but good try, you might want to read that thread i posted it will help you.

That IS how it works no matter what the other post says. Where do the photons get their energy???? Answer that smart guy.
You can't even read the thread i posted before spouting off at the mouth, all the answers you are looking for are in that thread , read it completely before responding or my next move is to block you from further communications.

Okay dumbass, read this:

Ok idiot you cannot read what i sent you so let me make it easy for you
Because the light will also turn into heat eventually, and since that light stays in your room it becomes heat in your room.

Photosynthesis stores some energy inside the plant (doesn't become heat), but photosynthesis is rather inefficienct so you can safely ignore it.
So 1200W will always be 1200W.
That's from the thread i posted you, now you are ignored because you couldn't read it and figured it out for yourself, i'm not here to argue.

Ask yourself where those photon watts go? What happens to those photons that do not get used in photosynthesis?

Aside from light that is converted and used to build plant material, all the light eventually gets absorbed by everything in the room and becomes what....?

Yeah, the "Troll" is on the rail again.
You can argue the ass sore he will continue to contradict you...

He himself knows that neither sphere tests nor manufacturer specifications can replace real-world measurement results.
An HPS converts 35-40% of the energy into light, the rest is heat. An LED fixture like this converts up to 50% into light.
We all know the that light also converts to heat because photons contains energy. As said, 600w = 600w.
The goal is that an LED can provide more "usable photons" per watt when placed at the optimal height.
You'll need at least a cooltube to be able to reduce the distance of your DE fixture to 24-30".
But this is nothing new for you, yoda!
You say you do not want to argue, but whenever you join-in in any conversation, you spread your outdated point of view and claim you just want to help.
BTW, I don't think you will ignore anyone, lol!, because trolls need their audience, but I know you will lead the ignored list as one of the most ignored user!

Understand! Modern LED fixtures a more efficient than traditional hps!!!
That's the reason more and more commercials changes their mind and invests in the future.

The truth always comes through!
And if an old fart like me can change his opinion, you can do that too.. you just have to open your mind first.
