Is this what you guys call root bound?

Rootbound is when roots outgrow the pot that they are in.

36 hours for a sprout in a rockwool cube is pretty normal.

Good luck with the grow.

Technically speaking, a root bound plant is usually in an enclosed pot of either plastic or ceramic. the root hits the side of the pot and starts to go either one direction or another, circling around the pot. when enough roots do this it is in the advanced stages of root bind. this has many affects on the health of the plant.
But what has happened to your rockwool seedling is the tap root has gone straight through the bottom of the cube. this is not a bad thing. If you submit the tap root to excessive oxygen and light, what will happen is the tip (the part that has escaped the rockwool) will be culled off. this will stimulate lateral rhizonic growth: the root will start to fill out the rest of the cube and will capilate creating many hairy feeder roots.
What you should do is plant it in your medium of choice.

i talk about alot off stuff.grow design, ordering seeds,i also follow a bunch of journals and help ppl out on the things i know.i dont think i ever said i was a pro.

actually i have ordered $100 worth of seeds from attitude my last batch i got most of them to germinate and none of them sprouted.i think they died from root rot.that was 5 different strains.i just ordered 7 new female seeds all different strains and i got 4 of them to germinate and none sprouted, this one is the only one i think that has came up outta the medium. not sure wtf im doing wrong. but im here to learn.

I had the same prob when I started out trying to germ seeds.

One trick to pass on to you when using rockwool.....Dont let it be soaking wet, it should be moist not dripping. Only water as needed.

Another help full tip.....before spending hundreds of dollars on expensive seeds, try on the free ones you get in your next bag. Nothing worst than watching a 15 dollar seed die.

I retract my last tip. I see you have tried that.
Sorry man some people have a green thumb and some dont.

im still waiting to start on my vanilla kush and raw diesel.im scared of drowning those too. i think my root rot came from soaking the seeds in shot glass and paper towel methods. this seed i just threw it inside the rockwool and this shit happend.i hope it straightens out.

This is a little more on the verge of being root bound..... You'll see roots EVERYWHERE when you take the plant outa the pot.....

You just got a regular old sprout on your hands there bud.

EDIT: I always us the papertowel method. And I've only ever, EVER planted 1 seed that didn't sprout, all the rest have grown into plants. Your obviously doing something not quite right. Get rid of the rockwool and get some dirt. You'll have MUCH better luck! I bet you!
And don't worry. If there is light above the plant. It WILL straighten out.

Weed is not supposed to have seeds in it. What's up with all the bag seed grows? I can't remember the last time I got a good one, a few baby white ones that never matured over the years, but really never any seeds.. Been years now and I'm a daily toker. I a medical hook if that means something..maybe he just never has seedy bud.

I'd put light on it now if it was me..... I would put light on it as soon as I planted the seed if it was me.....
i woke up to a sprout this morning and the seed fell off. so i threw it under the lights. 92 watts of cfl. the humidity in my grow area is at 35-40% is this bad? should i bring it up to 50-60? i wanted to throw it in soil already but the only soil i got is miracle grow. i have the organic choice and moisture control.

It must be nice to live in CA. Where the weed is always good. But other places in the US have to deal with mexican brick weed, Or poorly grown outdoor.
