Wondering if the size of flower will be the size of bud

Your plants will keep growing and hopefully they will swell as harvest time gets closer. When you chop the plant and hang to dry the buds will shrink 1/2-1/3rd in size.

No
your buds will always be smaller after drying
That flower is the bud
