me and a friend are having a debate so we're taking it to the streets. is this a dumb idea: a bong or pipe that does all the work for you, lighting, filling the chamber and everything and all you have to do is inhale?
is this stupid or not?

This is the streets? Haha, i actually enjoy packing bowls so i'm not so sure about that, but it would be perfect for armless people, i guess? Or people with other disabilities

I say dumb idea lol. You are going to need a bong, a robot to break up the weed and pack it, a grill lighter to light it for you, a vacuum to pull the smoke thru the bong tube, then you to inhale lol. I'd rather not carry a 37 pound bong with tubes everywhere haha

if you could get it small enough then yh, in the real world i dont think u cud actually build this thing, and plus some of the fun is packing the bowl and lighting it so u get the smoke the way u like it, not the way some robot will do it.

I think the most useful thing would be an automatic igniting bowl, it would just be useful for situations like driving when you want to keep a hand on the wheel, without having to position yourself too awkwardly, or it would be nice on windy and cold nights- I found out on cold nights if you go too deep into the woods by the time you break up the bud your hands are numb and the you start wasting a lot of bud and by the time your ready to smoke your hands are too numb to to light the lighter

its already been done electronic pipes that blow smoke out have been about for years.

i searched online and i wasn't able to find any. i did find this : http://www.blazedup.com/pipes4.htm but there isn't really an info on the site about it and so i don't know that it does what i'm talking about. I mean totally automatic aside from inhaling. basically hands free and not a vape. if there really is one of those things than it will resolve the dispute almost immediately so if anyone has any links or anything please let me know.

thats pretty much what i was referring to, but im not sure what your after if thats not it?!? it lights and blows the smoke out for you?
