“Hate leads to suffering”
It won't make you woke, will it?
Idk what happened to RIU.
I'm not making fun of you at all. You happen to know more than I.
Somebody posted a link that states "F1" = first generation, and B1 = back crossed. I guess. I couldn't
read all of their link because I had to consent to a popup to open the page. But I scrolled around and
found that much.

As to what happened to RIU, i've been here since Oct. As soon as I joined, I asked about tinctures,
and immediately got help from some very smart members here. One whose reputation preceded
him in my cannabis info searching from more than 2 years ago. Boy was I surprised to see him here,
and helping me with my questions too. I was hooked from that point on. The other helpful member
is one who grows to help med patients, and says he gives them their meds for free. He's another really
great guy, highly knowledgeable, who I respect and admire. You two know, or should know who you are,
so I won't name you here, unless somebody asks, because I know those two gentlemen do not mind. :peace:

F1 + BX2 does not equal an IBL. That’d be more like an in-cross IX

When I think IBL, I’m thinking like F6.. but a lot of breeders will also call an F3 an IBL.. take it always with a grain of salt

F1 + F3 = F2. Basically you end up gentically at F2 in any situation like that (F1 + F2 = F2, F1 + F3 = F2) or “one filial gen higher than the earliest filial gen in the cross, so if F1 is the earliest, you end up at F2)

Likewise, an F2 + F4 = F3. F3 + F5 = F4 etc

A Simple Explanation to What is IBL Strain

There are many terms related to the growing and cultivation of cannabis plants. From common terms like sativa, indica and hybrid to less common ones like landrace, photoperiods, and hermaphrodites, it’s easy to be lost in translation especially when you’re new to cannabis growing. Another term is IBL and IBL strain. What is IBL and is this something you need to know before growing cannabis?

What is IBL Strain All About?

IBL is short for the inbred line. It is a term referring to a true breed strain. An IBL is a true breed and hence will produce offspring with stable and consistent genetics usually from a single dominant phenotype of the strain. A perfect example of an IBL strain is landraces while there are also IBL strains in traditionally-grown strains.

IBL is a word that may be used by breeders to denote strains that will produce a single, specific characteristic over and over again spanning many generations. Breeders focus on very dominant traits such as the effect, appearance, potency, smell and aroma. Breeders use these traits to produce stable and consistent offspring.

Breeders prefer to use IBL strains instead of strains with unstable or unpredictable characteristic. Parent strains with consistent traits will pass these to their offspring and will go on for many generations to come.
There's more jargon, tech terms, acronyms, abbreviations in RIU than I ever thought possible. :sigh:

Is this botany, biology, agronomy and soils, or what? It's a hella lot to learn, isn't it? Me, I got stuck
in high school biology with the krebs cycle. I managed to kind of grok photosynthesis and some
interaction with chlorophyll. But that'd be about it. I think I got a B grade in there.

You saw that too. It was on the Abafar news feed a couple of days ago.

Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Thank you. I’m pretty sure it’s classified as Botany/Horticulture. They don’t offer Botany at the local University anymore though it’s called a degree in Plant Sciences now.
I hate woke culture. Genocide in China, Congo Colbalt mines, Mexico is attempting to join the brick nations, Etc, Etc. I often feel bad for this world. Being woke often sounds like arrogance and a way for someone to say they’re better then the next. We’re all stuck here together.

I haven’t always been a good person but I really want to be one. I feel like it’s the more difficult path these days. Thank you everyone for their help. I was feeling very down yesterday.

Yup, plant sciences, I'm sure that's what it'd be called nowadays.
I had to google the mines and the BRIC nations. So, ty for the info. Seems like you're pretty
aware, or more "woke", or enlightened than I am. So who gives a rat's tail if M&M candies
are gender specific or not? Why do I gotta care? But I do care about genocide, BRIC, and
cobalt mines in Congo, yup, that shit's important. Same as I don't like blood diamonds, for example.

I hope today finds you to get feeling better. Have another hit, on me: :bigjoint:
