i read this in faq"s, on drying. it says at these temps 3-4 weeks of dry time?

Make sure you hang the plants so that they do not touch each other (invites mold). With constant temp and humidity, the plants should be ready for manicuring in 3-4 weeks. At this time trim colas from the main stalk, and trim large and medium fan leaves (save them for making hash), leaving most of the smaller leaves sticking out of the bud in tact. Hang them up again and for a day or two, until 'popcorn' dry. The stems should snap when you bend them, and the bud should be dry, but not brittle. Now for the curing...

In that context its "correct". It takes much longer to dry if you keep the main stalk attached, because all of the moisture it contains. Remove individual branches from the main stalk, and your drying time is reduced. I dry mine for 5-7days, in a dark room with temps between 65*-70*. I put a fan on the ground to circulate air without it blowing straight on the harvest. I also manicure completely immediately after I chop the ladies down, the less they are handled the better.

you put a fan directly on them? ok, and what is your hunidity.

when do you start to cure them? when the stalk is dry or when it is still pliable. How dry is the bud itself?ty.

Without blowing directly on them, I hang them in a room at a height that I can view the entire bud easily, and grab at them easily with a small fan on the floor pushing air around the floor of the room. I keep it at 45-50%.

I dont dry with the stalk. I dry with just the stems of the buds, when the stems snap (rather then folding over) they are dry enough to cure. The insides of your buds will still be moist (you can squeeze them to verify, but I wouldn't). This is probably the easiest part of growing bud IMO, once you get the steps, and a few trials done there is nothing to it but to tweak what works one variable at a time to get it even better.
