after looking at severl scrog grows on here i was wondering if it would be possible to have a 2 layer scrog...if you have a screen at the bottom say with 5 plants in the scrog with another screen above with 5 more plants growing across the bottom of the upper screen with the leaves pulled up through the screen leaving the buds tied under the screen then have 4 x 600 hps cool tube running inbetween the the 2 screens.......
would the plants in the upper level grow towards the light or would they still try and grow up through the screen........

so what do you all think will this work....all help and advice welcome....many thank:idea:s

Yes it will work. You need a light on top of each set of plants though. I think you're saying just use one light? It'll work better if you have 10 foot ceilings.

my growing aera is 2 metres high 2 long and 1 wide want to have the 4 600s with the cool tubes running inbetween giving me 1200 watts per sq metre rather than the 600 watts otherwise i might as well just do 2 scrogs and use 2 of the lights for each.....

no, that won't work. if you put a light above a screen with plants beneath it, the plants will fill the screen. if you stack screens, eventually the top screen/plants will fill and block the bottom. you don't really need to do that to yield well. a properly done scrog will net you plenty of bud.

i want to have the lights inbetween the 2 screens using the cool tube the light will hit the top screen as much as it will hit the bottom screen...a nice little light sandwhich

i've done a couple scrogs, and i just don't get it. where would the containers for the second screen be, on top of the bottom screen? that doesn't sound kosher. you couldn't have them under the bottom screen. how about you draw a picture or something. how would you train, trim and feed???

i was planing on building a recess/false wall half way up the box about a foot below the top screen and traing the plants to grow from the back wall out underneath the screen pull the leaves up through and leave the stems tied below

The right way to do what you are talking about is run the cooltubes vertically and stand the screens on end all around it. Might as well be an entire circle...

Yes plants grow toward the light but only up, never down. I would sure like to see this tried though, who knows, maybe there is a chance they wouldn't have to turn their leaves 180 degrees to point down in order to effectively process the light. I can't recall a single attempt at only lighting from underneath.

i have read thoughts on it, never a proven experiment, his idea is interesting, worth trying out.
plants SCRoG on 2 layers, light in between seems feasable to me, but i still cant find a way of keeping the spider mites away, so what do i know?

but to have a 360 degree cooltube and the plants all around in a circle sure sounds cool too
