Hello everyone! Just wondering if this 600w hps light is safe to use. I tried unscrewing the light from the hood and it was really tough to get out. When it came out I noticed the small slits on the base were stretched even further. Would you guys use it? I havent tried pumping electricity through it yet.

i think the solution lays in how much money you have, cuz ad say replace it so it doesn't crack and go boom on top of your plants or something

Ha, dude thats what I kept picturing in my mind. Right now my backup is a 600w MH. As far as my funds, I need to buy an indoor A/C unit. So a new light :/, sheeesh. Im going to wait for a few more responses before trying to light her up. Thanks for the post.

Thanks for the post bro. I dont have a surge protector but i think Im going to try it out anyway.

How old is that current bulb. You should replace it. It's only meant to use under proper condition... a split along the base is not what I consider proper.
