Take your stash (stems, seeds, mild weed) and place it in a covered pot, with enough alcohol to cover everything. Isopropyl alcohol is commonly available at pharmacies. Look for alcohol that is 99% pure. Denatured alcohol also works well. Sometimes isopropyl alcohol is called rubbing alcohol. Now carefully boil the mixture on an electric stove. Be careful: the alcohol is very flammable! After 45 minutes of heating you can strain the solids out, saving the alcohol. Now, repeat the process with the same residuals, but with fresh alcohol. When the second boil has finished, remove the solids again, combine the two quantities of alcohol and boil again until you have a syrupy mixture. This syrupy mixture will contain much of the THC formerly hidden in the stash.

Kinda like how I make ISO hash. I think my way is much safer though.

You'll need:
container that will seal, (old pasta sauce jar, mason jar etc.)
Pyrex baking dish
fine strainer (get the finest mesh you can find)
rubbing alcohol (get the highest percentage you can get)
Razor blade
Pot of hot water and a stove

1. take trim and put in freezer for at least an hour (the crystals come off quicker frozen)
2. prepare a pot of water on the stove bring to a boil
3. Take the trim and put in a mason jar or anything that seals well, put in enough alcohol to cover the trim
4. Shake for 40-50 secs
5. strain into the pyrex pan and place on top of pot of boiling water. I like to do small amounts at a time it goes quicker than filling the pyrex pan up all at once.
6. as the heat gets higher in the pyrex the alcohol will evaporate and the hash will start to harden
7. after the alcohol is ALL evaporated and the hash starts to get hard its time to scrape w/ the razor blade

After a run or two you'll get the hang of it, just make sure you evaporate ALL of the alcohol.I also will do a double wash. After you strain the first time use that alcohol to do some more trim, you wanna get as much crystals as possible into the smallest amount of alcohol. Like I said after my first run I got the "feel" for it and it works like a charm now.

Good luck

would you even have to boil the plant in it couldn't you just cut the plant up place in in alcohol stir a little bit let sit add more wait for it to evaporate ?

Isopropyl Alcohol has a combustion point of 750*F so you should be ok to boil. Just watch those fumes.

750 deg Fahrenheit??? I believe the ignition/flash point of alcohol is well below the boiling point of water. Did you mean 75 deg Celsius?

The Auto-Ignition Temperature - or the minimum temperature required to ignite a gas or vapor in air without a spark or flame being present - are indicated for some common fuels below:

Isopropyl Alcohol 399c 750f

Check the flashpoint....the temp at which the vapours could ignite....If you still think Homebrewer is right than good luck to you....

Auto-ignition is the point the liquid will ignite without an outside source of ignition......

The flash point of a volatile liquid is the lowest temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable mixture in air.

But the vapor still needs an ignition source.

Precisely my dear Watson..... That outside source could potentially be the stove your boiling the alcohol on. Even an electric stove, how hot do think a glowing red element is?

When I used to distill my own alcohol and I used both pot stills and refractors.

The key to not blowing yourself up is to use electrical heat source as the guy says in his first post.

If you use a flame then the vapors could explode, that's the Flash point, 11.7 °C (open cup) 13 °C (closed cup) - this is the temperature where it will explode if exposed to a source of ignition such as an open flame or spark.

That is different from the autoignition which requires not spark or flame. 399c or 750f

Grain alcohol (ethanol) boils at 78.5° C (173.3° F)

I have distilled hundreds of gallons of alcohol over the years and never had an incident.

JUST DON'T DO IT ON TOP OF THE STOVE OR IN AN ENCLOSED AREA.

The glowing red element is certainly hot enough to ignite just about anything. However, vapor rises and the heating coils are stationary. The heat rising from the coils will not be hot enough to ignite the vapors 8 inches off the stove (the approximate height of the top of his kettle).

The OP should take great care and precaution if he plans on doing this. Personally, I wouldn't want to risk it.

The ignition source doesn't necessarily have to be a spark or open flame, just heat above the autoignition point will ignite the vapours. Not trying to start an argument here. Just making sure someone doesn't blow themselves up........

can i use a regular pot to boil the water in then set a biger glass pot on top of that one?? is that what your saying or put the glass all the way in the pot

I seen a you tube video today that looked like it would be easy to do. you freeze your trim and then you put it on a silk screen. rub it around and the crystals fall on the papper below. then you put it in plastic and roll it up tight and tape it. then you put it in paper and roll it up tight and tape it. then you smash and roll it with a metal pipe. then you put it in the oven and its done lol

oh my bad i skiped a step you wet the paper after you roll it up so that it doesnt burn
