A freind is selling this bong for $120. I dont know much about glassware at all, so while I think this is an excellent deal I wanna make sure before I commit the cash.

Seems a bit expensive, but you'd probably pay at LEAST that much in a head shop so it's worth it if you're in the market for a good glass piece. I've got a friend with one and he absolutely loves it -- I have to agree with him.

How can you tell whats quality and whats not?

I mean, it looks pretty thick and it doesnt have a shitty rubber ring bowl like what I have now. But idk, you guys will know better than I.

Only because I've shopped bongs from head shops to tobacco joints.

That bong is pretty standard. For 120 bucks you'd want to see some loops and twirls or neat diffusers and chambers. And upon that, its bleak, no colors or decals (that logo on the side sucks). 40 bucks.

Oh yeah i mean its nothing fancy, but im not looking for fancy. I want something that hits real smooth and wont crack like my last one. In terms of quality, what makes a $120 bong. The thickness? Glass used? brand?

What makes the bong more expensive is generally the amount of effort put into making it. That bong you are considering is pretty standard, the shit that costs more are the ones that contain more chambers that either filter the smoke further or just adds room for smoke to accumulate. If the bong has color changing glass in it, that will increase the value.

Well the main reason im looking into this one is it seems very similar to a RooR in design and quality. Im going to go check it out tommorow and see if it has those RooR qualities im looking for. But the thing is, I am not sure what exactly to check for in terms of chamber size, glass width, etc. Im pretty sure its no $40-$60 peice cause I did some research on Phires and they arent cheap knock-offs, the ones I found ranged $120-250

Yeah well thats why I asked, Its my own money I worked for anyway and you really dont have to be a dick about it. I was under the impression it was a $275 bong (what the original owner said) up until now, so im still trying to figure out what I need to know so I wont have to ask here every time I go out bong-shopping.

Phire's can be expensive. I had a $350 3 foot phire triple Perk. I just got a Phire/ Ice Carbonite Bong, with the freezable section

Buying a used piece to me is like buying used silverware.

Anyways you asked what it should go for in my opinion?

I'd say $50 sounds good for both ends, maybe pack one for him for the deal.
