hello Everyone so I'm new on here and a new grower also and i came across a local person that makes reflectors and sells them with bulbs and i was wandering if this is a good deal and if so which one i should go with i will put the ad below any advice or opinions will be greatly appreciated i can even post some pics of the reflectorif needed or wanted just let me know. thanks

here is the ad:

NOW AVAILABLE- 2700K SPECTRUM (WARM SPECTRUM) BULBS WHILE THEY LAST!!

For Sale: Single-Bulb reflector with your choice of bulb- $70. (500 Watt Equivalent)
AND: Double-Bulb reflector PLUS your choice of two bulbs- $110 (1000 Watt Equivalent)

Grow Bulb: 125 Watt CFL bulb 6400K spectrum (OR) 2700K Spectrum (500 Watt incandescent equivalent. all-purpose 'daylight' bulb) compact fluorescent grow light bulbs.

With CFL technology you get 500 Watt equivalent incandescent lumen production of 7,000 lumens, and you will use only 125 watts of power! NOT 500 Watts!! More lumens means more plant growth! The single-bulb CFL unit is equivalent to a 500 Watt incandescent fixture, and the Double-bulb unit creates the same lumen production as a traditional 1000 Watt incandescent light fixture!

This bulb will save you 75% on electricity compared to same size traditional incandescent bulbs, and it also burns much cooler than traditional bulbs. SO COOL- they can be placed within inches of the plant (for maximum light penetration), with no venting necessary! Using this bulb is the equivalent power consumption as using two regular 60Watt household bulbs! Meaning- your electricity bill won't get too high using this bulb! PLUS, each bulb has its own ballast which means NO BALLAST HEAT Heating up your grow area. CFL bulbs give you the light intensity of traditional bulbs without the heat and high electricity bills!

The reflector is made from sturdy aluminum fabrication, yet light enough to ship by mail (approx. 9 lbs. for single bulb unit). The reflector is equipped with E39 mogul sockets and six foot power cord [16/3] with grounded plug (plugs into standard household outlet)

Either setup is great for indoor herb gardens, or getting your seedlings ready for spring gardening, or any type of indoor growing (great for tent/closet grows due to low heat output!) All our bulbs are rated for 10,000 HOURS OF USAGE!! All our bulbs are new-in-box and tested so you won't get a dud! (professionally packaged in plain cardboard box)

It will depend on the size of your space. And heat IS something to consider. You may want smaller wattage bulbs for side lighting to compliment the larger bulb up top.

well 125watts and only 7,000 lumens isnt very good. u can get 5 23 watters with 115watts total with 8,000 lumens.
do you plan on only useing this one light?

basically what I'm asking is if i get a 48" X 48" X 78" tall tent and use that what is my best bet for lighting i will either be using a 4 plant 5 gallon DWC bubbleponics system or a different bubbleponics system with more than 4 plants not sure what the gallon amount will be yet i just want to make sure that i have the best lighting i can get that is affordable for me i have already bought a 4 pack of 23 watt cfl's from the store but if i use the 4 i bought i need to come up with something that i can make to use as a reflector or find a good reflector to buy

no, it's not a good deal. if you want to do a 4x4 tent a 600 or 1k hps would work better. if you want flouros t5 or t8 4ft bulbs would cover the area alot better than cfl. otoh, it seems kinda silly to do a 16 sq ft grow with fluorescent lighting.

ok well if I went with the 4 ft t5 bulbs how many would be ideal and what am I looking at for the electric costs are they going to use a lot of power or no?

rule of thumb 100w per 1 plant and 50w extra per extra plant, minimal! i say if ur using a 4x4 get a 600 or 1,000 w hps.. can get a air cooled 600w around $200. 1itsme is right, kinda silly using a 4x4 with cfls. Yeah i do grow with cfls in a open closet.. If i were using a 4x4 1,000 w air cooled would be my answer.
