so this is my set up i am building, im thinking about doing a mixture of 6500k and 2700k bulbs for the whole growth, i might do just 6500 for veg and 2700k for flower but im not sure, i will experiment...

My question is in this is a small space and i am thinking about doing 3 plants for the scrog technique, IS THERE SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH LIGHT?

as you can see i have sockets for 16 bulbs, all the tutorials i watched use about 8 bulbs in this "rubbermaid" method, i can fit 16 so im thinking why not do 16!

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS IF ANY TO DOUBLING THE LIGHTING AND WHAT WOULD YOU DO!

Thanks!

after reading that thread it talks about using cfls as much as possible,

should i consider putting cfl's at the bottom of my grow box? this way the plant catches light from not just the top but also from underneath....

dont bother with lights underneath if your doing scrog. wanna make sure your plants concentrate their energy on the tops.

nice thanks, i just posted this in another thread and maybe you can help

...hey sooooooo my question is how do i plug this in? LOL.
[/URL]

right now i bought two light fixtures, vanity fixtures, from home depot...

on the box it says "4-25 globe bulbs up to 100 watts" - what does this mean if anything?

i have put y-sockets on each making it so 8 bulbs will be on each vanity instead of 4...

on the back on the light fixture there is just two wires, white and black and a copper wire....what do i do?

Isn't that the actual wattage usage rating?

I have zero experience so you'd best ask an electrician

i am very worried about this....Please help i am confused and i do not want to burn down my house!

i bought the fixture pictured below...some people have told me this is fine and others have so no way...please help.

so i plugged it in and it worked with 8 total, 2 in each socket, Problem is the vanity says up to 100 watts max (see specs below)

Bulb specs: 42 watt = 150 watt, 2700k, 1600 lumens....

It turns on with all those lights in there, i would like more opinions on if this will work. It turns on now but i am worried since the lights are 42 watts each and the fixture is rated up to 100 watts with 25 watt bulbs. is this OK!?!

Here are the specs on the vanity from the web site...

This 120 volt, line voltage, light fixture installs directly to the junction box. The fixture uses 100 watt max, G-25, incandescent bulbs, which are sold separately. This fixture will work with any standard 120 volt incandescent dimmer switch, not to be used with low voltage dimmer switches.

  • White finish
  • Uses 4 incandescent, G-25, 100 Watt maximum, bulbs (sold separately)
  • Can be used with any standard 120 volt incandescent style dimmer switch
  • Slim design, wall or ceiling mountable
  • MFG Brand Name : Hampton Bay
  • MFG Model # : EW554WH
  • MFG Part # : EW554WH

I used a similar one,3 globe fixture with the y connectors and 42 watt cfls with no probl3m .... I'll be honest though you better have one heck of a fan, 42 watt cfls give off some heat...Id try some run thoughs with differing amounts of bulbs to see how the temps are, if you can keep 16 42 watters cool Ill be surprised, glad for you, but surprised. That would be close to 700 actual watts.

if you read it exactly as written, I believe it means that each socket can have a 100 watt bulb in it.4 - 25 watt bulbs would never be enough in a bathroom for any woman I've eve known! :)

Bobhamm is right. U can run 4-100 watt bulbs per strip....and ur only running like 4x82w. So ur under the limit. Just make sure u got plenty of ventilation to keep all them bulbs cool cuz there gonna put off some serious heat bro
