Why should I try harder to lead a horse to water. Futility exercise? Educate you?

Not in my job description.

You didn't address anything. I responded to the few specifics you mentioned like healthcare and student loans, but you're response was 'you're a socialist'. How is that even relevant? You obviously don't want to respond to anything substantive, so yes...the conversation degenerated from there.

And what is this obsession with socialism? The cold war is over. Every developed economy today is a mix of public and private, including ours. Is that socialism? What specifically is it about what I posted that you think is socialist or left-wing? I know you're good with generalities, but I'm looking for specifics here.

My obsession with Socialism is, if it's so great than why aren't the Socialist Countries contributing to us instead of vice versa?
I do not live in Europe. I don't care for their system. I believe most people in politics are greedy and self serving and could give a rats ass about me until I stop paying taxes. Thats right Abe, I pay taxes and you pay taxes. Hooray for us.

What the hell does it get us? A government more concerned with criminals rights than citizens privileges.

Big difference there Abe. Between rights and privileges.

And I'll bet you still think America is home to the free.

Maybe you misunderstood my question. I was asking why you were obsessed with applying that label to everything. Is medicare socialist? Medicaid? How about social security? The VA? The national park service?

And when you say socialist countries....what countries do you mean specifically? Czechoslovakia? Because that doesn't exists anymore...

If thinking government has a role in regulating the excesses of the market and making sure that the most vulnerable members of society don't fall through the cracks is socialism, then yes, I'm a socialist.

Anytime the Government steps into my life to dictate my needs and direct the care I'm given, then yeah. And please don't get me started on the VA. I went in in 76. I got out a few years back pretty messed up and the V.A. is a JOKE. I pay for my own damn medical insurance. I want to choose, not be herded in with those that can't or WON'T pay their own way.

And for the record, I said you sounded like a socialist to me. Taking care of the masses at the expense of the minority is wrong. And if you want to see how well the "government takes care of it's downtrodden, drive through the flower market or skid row downtown Los Angeles and then tell me why we give more to other countries than our own.

It's crazy that with the allegations coming up and then her lil slip, I can't believe they haven't rushed to prove without a doubt whether or not he is elligible to even be pres, especially since he is wrecking the country at a rate even GWB couldn't compete with...it's because he is the most socialist person in govt so all the DMC want to use this to pass every crazy bill they couldn't pass in the last 10 yrs...it's like a taxpayer funded shopping spree and the spending in just the 1st year is enormous and will tripple the already huge deficit , not to mention crush the healthcare system and wreck the quality of care significantly...it will be over come next election anyway but it will take 4 yrs to reverse all the BS this monkey has done, but at least the people woke up and realized the Constitution is important and needs to be a solid document otherwise it provides no protection...not to mention there would be more than enough for everyone if the Fed would stop wasting it on projects that are of no benefit to anyone other than the super rich anyway...

And CJ....any US citizen born in hawaii will only be able produce electronic copy of the birth certificate I posted above. The records are electronic. The certificate is issued by the state of hawaii with the official seal and whatnot. Is the state of hawaii in on some kind of conspiracy to conceal the president's true place of birth?
