i was wondering, instead of yeast can you mix with anything else to create co2
is there anything else you can use for c02

hey man i could never get me hands on that you can just use baking powder and vineger in a 500 ml bottle it lasts about 5 r 6 hours with two tablespoons of the powder and an 1/8th vineger do sum experementing with bottle sizes and mixtures but thats wat i used ....

I seen someone grow some mushrooms and vent the mushrooms to the flowering chamber. Shrooms produce co2, but how much I dunno...

Mix some dollars with little effort and get a bottle.
I find it kinda funny, people going the cheap route for CO2. This leads me to believe that their op is far from ready for CO2.

I use a 1 gal water bottle with yeast and sugar. Lasts me 2 weeks.

Dry Ice puts off CO2, though I'm not sure how quickly. It'd be worth a test, considering it's something like 15 cents/pound at ice cream shops.
Brewing beer & wine also off-gases CO2, though it's in much lower quantities. With the amount of ventilation you'll probably want in your room, it'd negate the benefits. Yeast & Sugar is definitely your best bet. Everything else needs to be attended too regularly.

I saw some interesting writing by some educated guy who compared costs and what actually turns into co2, he came to the conclusion that a candle was a good solution.. guess you have to make sure it doesnt heat things up then, like putting it outside the air intake or something.
After researching and researching it seems that you're better off with the co2 tank set up. I was quoted about $300 for a 20lb tank, regulator and timer (does that sound about right?) I've also heard people claim that proper CO2 levels will raise your yield by atleast 20% so it seems that the investment would be well worth it in the end even if it only raised it by 20% if you're doing a decent amount.

CO2 is heavier then air, so how ever you get it, give it to your plants from above. Yeast/wine will work for a small smealled cfl grow, other then that you really should use the bottle. Not everything in life can be home brewed with ease. You will put out so much effort and time trying to match the results of the bottle that you might as well use a bottle.
And no, I don't use either.
While a great addition. The basics have to be spot on to get any really good results. Until you have haximized your current grow it is not really time for it. Ther eis since in them gases... <g>

About right. Lowes HD ain't gonna save you any money (plus they won't have the solenoid valve.)
My question is how you going to know you are at the ideal 1500ppm?
(them co2 controllers start at about $300, and is a better solution. $150-200 for tank and reg, $300 or so for the controler)

M8 i use the c02 tabs but if u have a condence dryer use the steamed warter that collects in the warter tank thats c02 or just boil the kettel an let it go cold
