Is there a way to put a timer on a wall socket?

I have a wall socket that im using as a light source for now. It is usually controlled by the door of the closet but i was wondering if there is a cheap way to get it on a timer. Thanks

just open the timer up and join the cables man, if you want you could also set up a on/off click if you want to turn the timer off sometime
