Is the ROI-E680 a good light?

I bought 2 hlg550 already and I feel like the bars would give better light spread and this light is only $100 more. Not knocking HLG cause those lights are awesome

I'd use the search and see what you can find. I know for a fact that is one light not very many if ANY of us have used.

I've seen a few people using the ROI-E680 who have posted on this forum.

It looks like a high quality light, with similar system efficacy ( 2.6 μmol/joule) to the HLG 550 V2 R Spec. Made with Osram LEDs ( exact diodes not specified AFAIK although we can infer) with a rating of L90 @ 54,000 hours. The light spread with 8 bars should be really solid. It would be nice if the onboard dimming function allowed for more variability than just 100%, 80%, 60%, and 40%.

One issue I have read about is that on some of the earlier ROI-E680 that were produced the diodes would continue to emit light(dimly) when the light was shut off using the controller. I don't know for certain but I believe Grower's Choice has fixed that issue.
