Wow before a edit the original title was "Is THC produced DURING flower" ? wow that bowl of Heri did me dumb lol

So we all seem to know our flush times etc. and the general lay out. Well I'm curious on some shadowed pieces and I'm sure some seasoned vet can light the way.

What happens PRODUCTION wise while we are flushing ? Does the plants still produce THC while it's food is being taken away ?

If someone would please take the time to relay a CORRECT answer myself and the rest of the clan would appreciate it and thanks. :)

a man after my own heart.

yes, all normal life processes continue while flushing. they just slow down because thier fuel source has been deprived.

that being said i do not flush either. i used to be a die hard flusher for years then one day i was argued into submission and tried it. the guy asked me if corn fields get flushed before harvest? if home tomato gardens get flushed pre-harvest? the answer is no, because its not necessary. check several nutrient companies feeding charts, some advise flushing ans some dont. now go back...i bet every company that reccomends flushing just happens to have the perfect product to aid in this 'flushing'.

try not flushing...feed light the last week, but dont flush. dry slowly and give it a good cure. your herb will burn smoothly, entirely, and taste great. no snaps, crackles, or black shit left in the pipe.

flushing is HooDoo straight from the boys in the marketing dept.

sorry sorry but how do you have 200 posts and still not know how thc is produced? amazes me thats all haha
He asked if it continued to produce during flushing. I too have heard that by feeding up untill the very end you can actualy increase potency over flushing because you continue to give the plant everything it needs Vs starving it to death.

slik, i also beleive in this to the fully, plants and marijuana have been growing great fine smoke for almost 20,000 years(that people have been consuming anyways), why do people need to start doing things to them that is not necessary, i have flushed and not flushed, i see absolutley no difference, no diff in smell, no diff in taste or really anything for that matter, i personally think theres no diff between soil and hydro either, its all a plant and it will all grow the same, maybe a bit fluffier in soil becuase of medium, but thats it, bud will be the same imo, but again ive tried it, not googled it, theres 100 people that will tell us we're wrong slik, must be our combined probably 40 grows that lets us know how wrong we are, hehe :joint:

To all of you that help me with my info THANKS, one love :) I think Im starting flush today. I will flush for two weeks and if I they aren't all ready Ill flush the others for three weeks. How much extra mass we looken at during a flush ? Ladies do tend to fatten up during a flush right ?

Ideally the girls 'll fatten up during flush. The flowers should grow until they get cut down or begin senescence. Sorta related to the point the non-flushing growers are making. By restricting nutes during the last 2-3 weeks the growth is slowed. So these gentleman who don't flush should get more flower weight... and perhaps resin content.

So they produce but at a much slower weigth ? So in all actuality if one wasn't concerned about the taste or color a flush is not the way to go because though it's producing it's half of what it was doing before the lack of food ?

I think most growers would agree that those extra couple weeks of nutrients increase yield. However, potency and flavor seem mostly unrelated to yield...

Do not flush a healthy plant. Would you starve a healthy child to make it grow more? Of course not. This flushing business before a harvest is pure fairy magic.

its not that they fatten up during flushing. they fatten up during that stage of thier life cycle, wether you feed them or not wont change that.

how do you know? have you tried it, or just read about it?
