Is SOG DWC possible for me?

i plan to try and turn this small container into an 8 cylinder res.

limited with this space, is it possible for me to get 8 1.5foot plants on there? and is 1oz per plant a good probability for yield under 4 6500k cfls and using the Lucas method General hydroponics formula?

and should it be 12/12 from the start or some other number?

thanks. main question is, is this do-able in the simple and small DWC container this size?

bump. need more opinions/input.

i will start a grow log on this as soon as i get enough info. and do people do well with just GH micro and bloom? or is the "nova" product the best?

How big is the container? It looks like it would be ok for a 8 plant sog. I'd not expect an OZ per plant at that size with such a small amount of light, though.
Have you considered t-5 fluorescents?

Start from clone and once they are about 6", go 12/12.

Either nute is good. The floranova is nice in the fact that it's super concentrated, but it's kind of a pain in the ass to mix.

how much do t5's and their fixtures cost?? how many would i need and do i only use those??

well actualy those 3 23W 3000k cfls are going out the door soon.

would 4 5600k cfls make a big difference if i replace with those? or does it gotta be 6500k. could i then expect an oz on each? do u mean 6 inch?

I made mine y not you? get the most you can get light wise cfl are ok for starts IMO

why do every1 add in "for starters" about cfls? does that imply that us noobs deserve small yields when we atleast have decent needs? or does that mean i can only use cfls to begin a grow??

the most light i can get for my plants possible... with Y adapters on my fixtures would be 6. so 6 high lumen Cfls. would that have nice yield?

you wouldnt get on ounce from all 8 plants together with only 4 cfls...you really need to increase your lighting if you want to get anything over a few grams....:joint:

well what would be odd is that i am limited to having lights in a straight line. would 6 lights be able to produce oz per? 8??

if i had 8 6500k cfls running 12/12 would that do it? besides i thought the fact that their gonna be hydro would make all the difference

With the CFLs you using you will not get 1oz per . I just did 6 plants and got 3ozs . I used 12 2700k cfls ( 2700k red spectrum for flowering , 6500k blue spetrum for vegging ) I use the same DWC your talking about building . My plants ended up at 2.5 ft . 13 weeks from seed .

bud were u even trying to grow sog? or did u just let them grow? and at 2.5ft, how much bud do you think that would produce per plant.?

so you have 24 lights and how much of a spike did your electric bill go up?? was it even worth it to grow? imean what was the profit/costs rates... with 12 lights on all the time sounds like itd be cheaper to just buy ounces...

My electric bill only went up a couple dollars a month . I knew what to expect from yeild . I knew using cfls I wouldnt get the yeild I would of if I had used my 400w hps . But set it up to see how the cfls would do . Good buds and a really nice taste to them . Not my first grow , just my first with cfls .

electricity in hawaii is a HUGE issue. just from me leaving the bathroom lights on and taking a bath twice a day will cause a near 100+ increase in the bill... i know for a fact it you couldnt consider it in the states because alot of my friends moved there JUST because of the MUCH cheaper costs of living. cant be too sure.

and also to greendude, .5 per is also good to me. and it took u a little over 3 months from seed to harvest? that sounds fair to me. but did you take every action you could to produce maximum yield, ie topping/pruning/bending/etc?

this is the islands dude. research gets you an A... then you become a teacher. but you only learn/gain anything if you do it first. "Ma ka hana ka ike" - the learning is in the doing.

i mean no disrespect, its just that back in the day my highschool math professor tried to tell me how to become wealthy and then i asked him how much he made... he said "£16,000 a year my boy! (less than $30,000 a year)" and i was gone in 60 seconds. rofl. after living in hawaii for 5 years i learned alot about how "the more you read the less you know" in local philosophy XD
