Is PH strain dependent or just medium dependent?

I know the ideal ph differs from hydro to soiless to soil but what about strain? Do different strains like different ph's?


Because I swear my autos perfer 6.6 while my nl's seem to favor 5.8 in my promix. Could be wrong about that though.
