Is my t5HO to strong for mothers and clones?

Why are you running 8 of them? Take 4 out and keep closer. Electricity cut in half. T5s should be close. They’re very gentle. Even at an inch if theres a little draft over the plants, they will be fine.
Theres a switch that flips a few of the a couple of lights off I'll just do that and go from there, and the 8 bulb setup is just what I have thats why.

I was just wondering though if I'm turning the lights down for the new cuttings and then flip them back up later is it gonna mess with the mothers at all if I'm just doing this constantly?

This is where it gets confusing, you say dont turn it down he says turn it down. Why dont you guys go head to head and I'll sit back watch the end agreed upon result. :p

Not at all. Clone Mommas are in continuous veg lighting and can tolerate lots of change.

I'm waiting on my 2x4 tent to arrive from gorilla sometime mid January I think, but I want to start cracking some seeds for my first indoor grow! I'm just to damn excited :bigjoint: I'm going to grow two strains (godberry by freedom of seeds and chunky skunk by freedom of seeds) and I want to get the mothers started up but I'm looking through all these forums and everybody says you really dont need a lot of power. My plan was to house 2 mothers and a 36 site clone king in the 2x4 but now I'm starting to wonder if thatll be enough space? I have a hydrofarm t5 with 8, 4 foot bulbs. I was going to mix in a little bit of red spectrum just for the hell of it cause I want to get the best cannabis I can grow from start to finish. Just looking for some opinions could I run all lights with better healthier plants or would that be overkill?

I haven't read the thread but the answer to your question is no. They are absolutely not too strong for either. Clones do root better with low light intensity. Anything other then that give them as much t5 light as you want.

Cheers :)

It will work. Keep them at a distance when they are young. Contrary to what most say t5 can fry plants. Around 2 foot for young seedlings.

I used to grow with t5 and mixed spectrum from the start made the best bud. I used agromax bulbs.

I used 2- 3000k flower bulbs, 2-6500k veg bulbs, 2- pure par bulbs, 1- 4200k bulb and 1- 10,000k+uva bulb.

If you’re refering to my remarks. I didn’t actually meant for you to turn it down. I meant if you’re going to run 8 and put the light at 2 feet, run 2 at 1 foot. Save some electricity. I think with an oscilating fan a rooted plant can stay as close as an inch from the bulb. I use 4x24 t5ho 2 feet bulbs for my seedlings and clones and keep it pretty close without any adverse effects. Just start higher and find the sweet spot.

Ok so I'm just going to put the t5 at the top of the tent with all the lights flipped on and put the clone king in between the two mothers which I assume will block a bit of light from the clone king.

I have 2x 8 bulb 4ft T5s that have all 6500k HO bulbs for veg.
I have them running with all 8 bulbs on at about a foot from my plants and they are loving it right now.
Theyre only around 2 weeks out of the cloner right now.

Well I only put them in cloner till they root (2 to 3 weeks from what I've read seems normal) then I plan on moving them to a veg tent 5x9 with 2 hlg 550 v2 quantum boards ebb n flow but still waiting on that damn tent.. just want to start some mothers in the closet for now.
