Its under a 400 Watt MH in a cooltube
Should I move it down closer?
If it makes any diffrence it's a sativa dominant

wait till second node shows, then judge stretching based on distance between first true leaves and second node.
 
Alright also how should I gauge how close to move my light, I have a good ventilation system so it really doesnt get very hot. I could move it alot closer without it being uncomfortable I was just trying to be on the safe side
 
I have the lighting schedual on 18/6. Like I said I could move the light closer though lol.

It's also only been like 4 days since it sprouted
 
Always keep it as close as you can. With MH I'd say 8 inches if you could. If it gets too hot try 12 inches. Only things you need to worry about it heat and if it might grow into the light. I've also heard about light bleaching, not sure how close it'd have to be for that though, you'd be fine at what I recommended.

The hand test is always the best though.
 
Well It's a very small tent (24 cubic feet) and I have a 400CFM fan exhausting through the cooltube + a 80 CFM fan blowing in cold air so the cooltube doesnt put out very much heat, Ill just move it as close as I can without it feeling uncomfortable

I just kinda figured it didnt need to be any closer considering its a 400 watt mh in a small mylar enclosed tent
 
Id probably say maybe 1 1/2 feet to 2 feet max. Cant give exact ammount since im not home at the moment. Theres not very much radiant heat
 
Yeah it's losing lumens being up that high. I learned this the hard way as well. But I just put as much soil in the cup I could to bury as much of it as I could (so I guess you could just do the same thing with the hydroton? not sure how that works).
 
i suggest move it down an inch every second day untill around 6 - 10 inches. use the hand test as stated before. as there seedling you wanna increse light intensity slowly
 
Should I move the rockwool deeper down in the bucket then? I assumed itd be bad to cover it with a bunch of hydroton
 
no if you cover it then it wont grow algae as easy. fill with hydrotron just up to the lower part of the leaves
 
do you need a MH light on it? just get a cool CFL or something and put that right up close...... i know MH is a good light for flower but not necessary during vegg..thats what i would do at least

such a small plant a little houshold CFL should do it fine up close for a bit, then when it strengthens put the MH back on and LST or just get a cooler light for vegg.

looks liek your gonna have some monsters on your hands soon..

That's bullshit, MH is way better than CFL's for Veg and is not good for Flowering. You got your shit backwards...
